When we came in, we were told we could sit anywhere. My sons chose a booth near the register. The waitress came to take order shortly after we were sat but I wasn’t ready yet. When I got ready, I looked around for the waitress and she was no where to be found. After about 10 minutes, I went to the register and ordered. Tyler was the cashier. About a minute after I sat down, the waitress came back but I told her I had already ordered.
I got the JB&B BBQ Bacon Burger w/ fries and a sweet tea. One of my sons got the burger kids meal and the other got the chicken tenders. They got lemonades to drink. The order was placed about 4:24pm. My kids wanted a shake but was unable because they were out of custard, which I thought was odd, lol.
2 other people joined our party. When they were ready to order, no one came and no one was at the register. Tyler came over and asked them if they were ordering and we told them yes but then he just walked away…
Our food came at 4:34pm. The other people in our party asked another waitress if they order at the table or at the register. As they were asking, Tyler arrived with our food. That lady and Tyler looked at each other and had a mini conversation. The waitress asked Tyler if he was going to take the order and Tyler made the comment that he only took my order because he thought I was getting my food to-go… Nonetheless, Tyler ended up coming back and taking their order.
After Tyler took their order, he brought mine and their sweet teas, but mine had a hole in the cup. I took it to him to get a new one. He trashed it and I sat down. He ended up bringing my boys their lemonade before bringing my tea. When he brought my tea, there was a puddle of tea all over the cap that I had to soak up with napkins.
As I was eating, I noticed the salt shaker on the table was empty. My food was tasty. No complaints at all. I got bbq sauce for my fries, which came in a prepackaged container.
After we were done eating, my friends who joined us needed to pay. Tyler didn’t come back and no one was at their register. I went to the restaurant, which was clean for the most part. However, the toilet cleaner thing in the restroom was disgusting looking. It needs to be replaced, tbh.
When I left the restroom, my friends were able to pay for their room. At this point, most of the chairs were put on the tables and it looked like they were doing end of shift work. However, per their hours, they didn’t close for another 2 hours.
The service was mediocre. It seemed as if the staff really didn’t care. I most of them standing around talking or hiding in the kitchen. There was one older lady who I saw consistently doing some type of work. Kudos to her.
After our last visit and our mediocre meal we received the debit card withdrawal on our on-line bank statement. To our surprise, an additional $5.00 was added to the total . Jasmine was our server and being we were happy with her service we left a cash tip of over 20% on the table. My wife clearly marked the receipt “$0” on the tip line. My wife called and spoke with Justin, the manager, who seemed to be aware of this happening before. He offered to compensate the $5 difference plus gave us a $10 gift certificate. No real reason was forthcoming but if this was a “honest mistake” I am willing to accept. Otherwise, this needs to be corrected to ensure that it doesn’t happen again and parties involved held responsible.
Next to nothing for food eateries at the Tanger Outlet Mall got us stopping in at Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes and Fries. Reasonable prices got me ordering a chocolate shake that was thick and creamy. I ordered the 4 piece chicken tender platter with the tots, coleslaw and a slice of sourdough bread. Tenders were nothing compared to the thick, golden brown tenders advertised when you came in. Mine were thin on the chicken, heavy on the breading and overcooked. In fact, when I broke off a corner the breading just crumbled. Tots were definitely deep fried too but edible. Coleslaw was average and the toast was good. My wife’s chicken sandwiched on a steamed bun was also lacking on the meat and soggy. Her fries seemed undercooked. Staff were friendly, prices doable and the COVID caved seating area was clean with a 50’s theme.

Second time not really the charm. I do enjoy their chocolate shakes and this time I tried their All-American cheeseburger. Decent size beef patty with the usual toppings of lettuce, tomato, cheese pickle and Mayo. Fries still soft and wimpy. Average fast food and being we live a distance, not worth the drive.
