Food was DELICIOUS. Our server was such a sweetheart and communicated their specials and deals right off the bat. Gyoza and edamame were fire and the sushi was sooooo fresh and soft. The meal as a whole was to die for. We got convinced to try their fried plantain dessert and we were not disappointed!!! Atmosphere is top notch- def check this place out if you get the chance!!

Amazing restaurant, really great atmosphere, drinks were fast and the food was right on time, we got the Lion King roll and it was delicious, we also got the gyozas and they were delicious, the crab lagoon had an amazing taste, amazing restaurant, would come here a lot.

Wait time of 40 min to be seated, server came to us after 20 min, an hour later we got our first dish, took forever to give check too, finally leaving after 3 hours. Food wasn’t bad but not worth this terrible service or special in any way for the price. No soy sauce plates given until I FINISHED my sushi. The miso soup was not the best. Good music playing, good decor, good vibes. The floors aren’t even nailed in and everyone tripped over it…

We went to Japones with some friends on a Friday night. I know they have recently opened and we also had a heavy snow, but the communication between the bartenders, wait staff, and kitchen was abysmal. Don’t go here unless you plan on spending 2-3 hours for a very slow dining experience. We ordered food and drinks, the waitress came back and told us we couldn’t get Kirin draft because there was something wrong with the tap, so we were served Kirin light. She brought out our friends’ food within 30 min., we were served the wrong sushi, and an hour after waiting for food, the kitchen came out to tell me they didn’t have the sauce for the curry, and asked if I would like something else. I ordered yakisoba. It came out after another 30 min. My partner waited for his food for another 30 min (after I received my food) and finally asked our waitress where his food was, and she admitted she never put his order in. He finally got his order after another 30 min. (After waiting 3 hours total)
They got every single part of our order wrong. I don’t fully blame any one person (I think it was a team effort on lack of communication), and I understand the circumstances, but it was probably the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I won’t be going back until they can run a smoother dining experience.

Definitely check it out! Cool new spot with great food and drinks for a good price. Worth coming even just for the vibe alone. I’d recommend this spot for a date night or going out with friends.

Was headed somewhere else, but, Japones called to me with the low-slung comfortable chairs I saw through the Tokyo style neon.
I held out my arm for my date as we crossed the dark snowy street and walked into the retro Princess Theatre entrance that’s now Sushi, Japanese, and tasty Jalapeño Fusion via Mexico City.
Upon entering, I was faced with going up or downstairs. I looked my date in the eyes, smiled, and guided her to the lively sounds downstairs to get us a fabulously poured Old Fashioned and Paloma.
We greeted new friends, had a few sips and headed upstairs to the low-slung chairs and ordered perfectly cooked Shrimp Tempura: hot inside, crispy dry batter. We followed this with Hibachi Steak and Steak Teriyaki, both served with salad and miso soup. Be certain to inform your server on how you want your meats prepared. With open communication, the dishes are on point, and, the chef is close at hand to ensure excellence as seen in the photo.

I had an incredible experience at Japones! The atmosphere was spot on, but what really made the night was the service. I want to give a huge shoutout to the Jose, the bartender, who was attentive, professional, and clearly knows their craft. They made us feel welcome from the second we sat down and kept the drinks flowing perfectly.
Speaking of drinks!! You absolutely have to try the Peach Mule. It’s easily one of the best variations of a mule I’ve ever had. It’s perfectly balanced, refreshing, and the peach flavor is fresh without being overly sweet. It’s the perfect companion to the meal.
If you’re looking for great vibes and even better cocktails, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be back
