The food here is so amazing. I’ve never been disappointed. The sushi is also excellent! The view is lovely and they also have a super cool salt water fish tank. The customer service is some of the best around!!!

I’m finally deciding to write a review, after continual disappointments. Once upon a time, pre-pandemic, this was always the best place. The food was consistently good, there were always a good amount of vegetables in your dish, portions weren’t reduced down to diet-size, the restaurant was well-kept and decorated for visual appeal. Since the pandemic, this place can now only be rated between 2-3 stars, depending on the day and what you order. The restaurant no longer is nicely kept, the food portions are ridiculously small, you barely get any vegetables in your meals. I ordered take-out soup because I was sick, and wanted a lot of the spicy broth. The tall container was only filled about 2/3rd’s of the way! So, when I got home, I could only get a little broth to swallow with my noodles, and it also wasn’t the best flavor, it used to have a lot more chili oil and lemongrass. Over and over again we are disappointed with Cafe De Bangkok. It is time I write about it. It isn’t what it used to be.

I have been coming here for over 10 years and have never had a bad meal or experience. The food is always full of flavor and the portions are perfect. I can’t praise the staff and the owners enough for just being wonderful people. They are always attentive to the needs of their customers and never fail to do it with a smile and positive attitude. It is a very comfortable environment to be in. For anyone who has not been here and is looking at reviews to figure out if they want to eat here…do it!

I’ve been there a couple times with my friends and it’s always great! The attention to detail is so cute. I love how they make the straw wrappers look like flowers! The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are pretty big. My fiance always loves to steal my leftovers after. Looking forward to coming again!

**edit after second visit: my original review, below, was GLOWING, and that was well-deserved. However, we ordered take out a couple of weeks later and the drunken noodles had literally almost no flavor at all. I ordered a dinner portion so that I would have leftovers, and received a tiny container that, if that really is their dinner size, tells me the lunch wouldn’t even be a full plate. I’ll wait for a tie breaker before changing my rating, but it was disappointing. I have to say that those two experiences could not have been more different.
THE BEST Thai, the best Asian, maybe the best food period, that I’ve had so far in Maine. This is authentic, delicious, amazing Thai food. I will be back trying many more options, but you cannot go wrong with the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle).
The atmosphere and decor are stunning, such a gorgeous view, beautifully styled and peaceful.
Staff was wonderful, went out of their way to help, just a perfect experience all the way around and I feel like I should say again SCRUMPTIOUS food.
So glad to have found this place, and thankful it is close by.

The sushi is fresh and artfully prepared. Appetizers are hot and delicious. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. You can’t beat the view when dining-in. If you’re considering lunch or dinner in the Hallowell/Augusta area Cafe De Bangkok should make the short list.

I stopped by while I was waiting for a ride and got some Boba tea. The place was beautiful with a fish tank in the center. There’s juice Boba, milk Boba, and tea Boba which was delicious. The owners don’t know a lot of English, but are very sweet. My cup also came with the cutest handle and sticker.

Excellent Panang Curry dish and Crispy Chicken Pad Thai, and a great atmosphere, complete with lovely decor and lighting, and a beautiful saltwater fish tank. The service was great and the food came promptly. Pricing is competitive and reasonable. I will be back many more times! (Pictured: Crispy Chicken Pad Thai )

Excellent Thai food and beautiful presentation. Staff super friendly and helpful. I had the mango fried rice with tofu and sushi that was veggies wrapped in cucumber no sauce. Totally worth going there.
