It was our first time in sushi nami and unfortunately our rolls were not the best. Inagi make barely had any eel in it and Philadelphia roll was pretty much just a cucumber and rice. BBQ salmon roll was good though.

Came here tonight for a quick dinner before a movie. Took around 10 minutes to get menus after being seated, and took another 5 minutes to get water. I accidentally spilled my water on the table, and was waiting for 5 minutes for the waitress to come over with utensils or napkins – and had nobody home. Instead, my boyfriend had to get up and ask somebody for UTENSILS. The food was also sitting up at the counter for 10 minutes as we could see it – our waiter was standing around chatting. I work in the service industry, and know how to treat people properly when they are in my restaurant. The service me and my boyfriend received was absolutely horrible. Waitress was only friendly when she came over to take our bill. The sushi also wasn’t great, my spicy salmon rolls had no spicy mayo in them and tasted like the fish was extremely old. Me and my boyfriend aren’t grown adults, but we know restaurant standards and how we should be treated. Other people came in after us and received menus and drinks immediately after sitting down. I feel as though we were mistreated because of our age, and that the waitress made an assumption because we’re teenagers that we won’t tip. Please do better.

Very disappointing experience, especially since we were celebrating a birthday. We were seated on the first floor and waited about 15 minutes without being offered water, menus, or even being acknowledged by a server. No one checked on us during that time, which made us feel completely ignored.
When service finally started, it was slow and unorganized. The sushi itself was average and tasted bland, especially considering the prices. Overall, the experience fell far below expectations, and there are far better sushi spots in Halifax. Definitely not a place I’d choose again, especially for a special occasion.

Food is great, we always enjoy our food. We typically have great service as well, but this last visit may have ruined this location for us. We were told our take out order would take 30-35 minutes, the someone corrected them and said 20-25 minutes, so we decided to stop by another store and come right back while we were waiting. We gave it about 35 minutes and came back. Our order wasn’t finished yet when we arrived, which wasn’t terrible. So we sat down to wait. We waited another 20 minutes before I stood up to ask, and before I could even speak, one of the woman working told me that they are working on our order and that they are really busy. In the mean time, we saw probably 8-10 orders put up on their wall and come down. I stood up to ask again after waiting another 10 minutes or so, she again came over and before could say anything, she told me our order would be done in 1 or 2 minutes and made some excuses about how they had a big reservation and lots of orders. When we finally got our order it had been over an hour, and the receipt slip was dirty like it had fallen and been missed. We would have felt better if they had admitted to a mistake, but all we heard was excuses about how busy it was. But we just left annoyed that our order took over an hour after being told 25 minutes and likely wont be back to this location

Normally I am the last person to complain but tonight this sushi was the worst we’ve had. For context we’ve eaten at many sushi restaurants.
First and foremost my Philadelphia Roll inside the roll was mainly cucumber and a small amount of cream cheese and a small sliver of salmon on top. But aside from all of that the fish looked and smelled bad (see photos) I ended up not eating the roll.
The spicy tuna and salmon rolls that I ordered had no spicy mayo on it.
My wife’s rolls were bland and very small and the sweet potato roll was under cooked (although I will admit the dynamite roll was a free roll through Skip the dishes)
Finally half the rolls were loosely wrapped and fell apart before we had chance to eat them.
I’m sure a busy Saturday night may be to blame but just unfortunate as we were looking forward to a nice meal.

Sushi is delish. Don’t understand the mayo on the fancy fusion sushi rolls but that’s to everyone’s PO personal taste. Service fast, friendly and the food tasted fresh. I’m more of a simple roll girl, if fancy is your jam, this is the spot!!!
