Despite living in the area for 30 years, I had never been to The Control Tower. We will be back.
The ice cream was as good as you would hope for form an ice cream shop. Unlike a lot of the the other places like it, there’s plenty of seating, as well as mini golf, go karts, and batting cages.
Being able to watch incoming planes adds the “airport viewing area” aspect that makes it unique.

You gotta try the trash can sundae! Pictured is the large but they do have a less daunting regular size. They have at least 2 dozen hard ice cream flavors and a handful of soft serve flavors and will post specials and even secret menu items on their social media page.

Great spot for a frozen treat. They have multiple flavors of soft serve as well as non dairy ice cream and Dole Whip. The kid size was more than enough for each of us, I can’t even imagine what the large is like! I have come to accept how expensive things are and they are not more expensive than the competition. I do think that a dollar for sprinkles is a bit high though. Nice tables in and out side and in and out of the shade. And you can watch the planes!

Love their ice cream and atmosphere one of the best in the area and the airport view is beautiful. They also have a car race track, mini golf, & baseball. It’s a really fun place worth visiting and we come back for ice cream with our two children here often.

What’s not to love about this place?? Great ice cream, friendly staff, the great open space around the Albany airport and lots of seating to sit, enjoy your ice cream…and maybe even watch some planes (and other aircraft) coming and going! ✈️ ️
And once you’re done with the ice cream, you can take a ride on some go-karts or play a round of mini golf…all located right next door!
As would be expected, our kids (11 and 9) LOVE going here! A word of caution – get the small size ice cream…they are VERY generous with their portions here!

This is the best spot within 100 miles. We live in Malta and we drive all the way down here for ice cream! There’s a reason. The employees care about the product, The customer, The experience and it’s all top notch. We love it here wouldnt change a thing! Menu is full of unique and creative options. There’s no other spot to look for. Stop your search. You found what you’re looking for. World class!

So I came across this place and I must say OMG their ice cream is so delicious. I got a Large cone of Lemon-marine. The customer service was good and they had a huge selection to choose from.

I ordered a thick strawberry malt with extra malt mix. I received a very runny malt with clumps throughout. It lacked flavor. Needless to say, I’m drinking clumpy milk with a hint of malt mixture. I hate to waste food and money. I will finish this abomination, but I will never order their malts again.
