I don’t even know how to describe this place other than saying it’s appropriately named and there’s not a thing I would add or take away from the decor or experience. I definitely felt like I’d spent the evening as a “happy camper.”

From the outside, the place has a glow and just seems loud. It’s large. It takes over the entire intersection, though Avanti, the food court and bar with its two stories, towers across the street. It’s just an electric energy that pulses from Happy Camper and its patrons. During the summer, the chill patio is hopping. During the winter, it’s a warm shelter of neon, sparkle and a cool campfire.

These pics are from a Wednesday evening, stopping in for dinner. We had our IDs checked at the door then walked through an arcade of fairy lights to get a table in the back, near the bar. Our server was a complete delight! She was well informed with the menu, helped me pick something that wasn’t pizza to eat and guided my friend through a sampling of specialty cocktails while I sipped on my Diet Coke that she didn’t let go empty. The wrap was terrific, fries with melted cheese were mouthwatering… honestly surprised I couldn’t finish them but it was so filling.

All the loud parts I thought would be the experience from the outside actually turned into the perfect place for old friends to catch-up and enjoy some laughs. I mean, for a gal that enjoys discoballs as much as myself, who could ask for a more relaxing backdrop in an evening out?!

The atmosphere here is truly fun, lively, welcoming, and perfect for enjoying time with friends and family. The food rocks… everything we tried was sooo good! We visited during Christmas time, and the festive drinks and holiday decorations made the whole experience even better. Every server I’ve had here has been incredibly attentive and genuinely sweet. Honestly, I’d come back every single day if I could. Highly recommend!

I took a friend here for the first time and day after Valentines, its was still decorated and cute. We got a free little cup of champagne. The breakfast bowl for brunch was delicious, our drinks were good. My only “complaint”was when it was time for payment, I had cash and told the server. She says they are a preferred card. I didn’t see that posted anywhere on the OpenTable site or my reservation so it was a bit of an upset. But it got handled.

Sometimes it is love at first sight, and sometimes it is a slow burn. For me, this place was a slow burn, but I am officially there. I have been here with the wife probably about 10-15 times, and I am now won over. I initially went for the pizza, and it was solid, and our experiences at tables were ok, but lately we have been going for happy hour at the bar. The food and drink deals are amazing, the effort they put into decorating the place is awesome, and the service at the bar our last few trips has been personable, efficient, and fantastic. Morgan was our most recent bartender, and a special shout out to her for triggering this five star review. First of all, you can’t go wrong with the pizza. I have had 3-4 of them, and they are all great. But, let’s talk about the happy hour. No beer specials, but that is ok. $6 wine, and an array of types (which you don’t find around town that much), seals the deal, along with a very big charcuterie board for cheap, and the jalapeno homies, which are so good that you really don’t care if they are on special or not. I noticed they just added a happy hour burger, so now I KNOW I will be back to try THAT. The place is great for going as a couple or going as a group, staying low-key, or raging. Several sections to sit to choose from, and you can always can get in the mix or find a personal corner to yourselves. Lots of TV’s to watch sports. I went from my wife having to talk me into going the 15 minutes there to now wishing it was just down the street from us. I highly recommend this place, and see you there…

Made a reservation online which was super easy and put a note about our anniversary. The staff took it upon themselves to reserve us a special table which made me feel thought of. They went above and beyond to make our night so memorable. MJ was our waitress and she was so attentive to our needs and conversation. She did little things that truly elevated our experience. Every dish we ordered was incredibly fresh and flavorful. We are so eager to come back. Between the staff, atmosphere, food and experince – I highly recommend!!

If you’re looking for a spot that absolutely nails atmosphere and food, Happy Camper is it.

The vibe is a straight 10/10 — plants everywhere, birds flying around, and somehow it makes you feel like you’re outdoors while still being totally comfortable inside. It’s one of those places where you sit down and immediately think, yeah… this was the right choice.

Now let’s talk food: the double smash burger is hands down one of the best around. Perfectly cooked, juicy, messy in the best way — the kind of burger you’re still thinking about the next day.

The wait staff? Awesome. Friendly, fast, and on top of everything without being overbearing. Food came out quick, drinks stayed full, zero complaints.

Great energy, great food, great service — Happy Camper absolutely lives up to the hype. I’ll be back… probably sooner than I should

I used to genuinely love Happy Camper. As a nearby resident and food writer, it was a place I regularly recommended to clients, colleagues, and out-of-town guests—especially during the holidays, when the décor is usually festive and inviting. I was excited to bring visiting guests this time, and our experience started off promising with a warm, welcoming host team and an on-time reservation.

Unfortunately, once seated, the experience declined rapidly. Our server, Elissa, took an unusually long time to bring water and even longer to check in for our initial order. After placing our appetizer order, she disappeared for roughly 20 minutes. When the food arrived, there was no follow-up to see how things were.

The truffle fries were fine but barely tasted of truffle, certainly not enough to justify the name. The whipped feta was excellent and paired beautifully with the pita, but the crostini was rock hard and disappointing. We had no opportunity to share this feedback, as our server never checked in.

When Elissa eventually returned, we ordered the nachos, historically a favorite, with pulled pork on the side. After waiting over 26 minutes, the nachos arrived incorrectly, with the pork not served on the side as requested. During this entire stretch, our server never checked on us. We had to flag her down to let her know the issue. She acted aloof.

A trip to the restroom made the situation even worse. The women’s restroom was in unacceptable condition: urine on the floor, water everywhere, long lines, and completely unstocked stalls. It was genuinely unhygienic and shocking for a restaurant of this size and reputation. The men’s restroom proved to be even worse for my guest. I will post pictures.

When we returned to the table, the corrected nachos still had not arrived. Nearly an hour after ordering nachos, they finally came out burned, with cheese so overcooked it had turned rock solid. At that point we requested a box because we weren’t eating those and didn’t have another hour to wait. We never even considered ordering drinks or entrées because the service delays alone made that impossible.

I’ve visited Happy Camper many times over the years, and this level of service and neglect is entirely new to me. Unfortunately, it left such a strong negative impression that I do not plan to return. Because I was evaluating the restaurant for professional purposes, I needed a printed receipt and ultimately had to ask the host for it, as our server was again nowhere to be found.

Most disappointing of all, despite the numerous issues was long wait times, incorrect food, poor service, and unsanitary restrooms, no manager ever checked in or attempted to make the situation right.

As a result, I can no longer recommend Happy Camper to clients, colleagues, or my company, and I have advised against using the restaurant for staff outings or hosted events. This is a place I once championed, which makes this experience all the more frustrating. You can and should do better, Happy Camper. This experience was memorable only because it was so awful and shocking.

My husband and I stopped here for our last dinner before heading home from Denver. We loved it! Pizza was great, atmosphere was sparkly and service was decent enough! I personally enjoyed the mocktail! It had a great taste and was refreshing. I can’t say much about the parking since we walked here from a nature spot.

If you’re in the mood for pizza with personality in Denver, Happy Camper is a fantastic pick. The whole place is a vibe — disco balls, neon accents, warm wood tones, string lights, and a massive patio complete with fire pits and fun seating make it feel lively and playful.

The menu leans creative but satisfying: inventive pizzas with clever toppings, solid appetizers, and drinks that match the energy (cocktails, beers, etc.). The pizza crust hits that sweet spot of crispness and chew, and flavors are bold without being over the top.

Service here is friendly and upbeat — staff seem proud of the space and eager to make your visit fun. The atmosphere is energetic, which makes Happy Camper a great spot for groups, casual nights out, or anytime you want your dining to come with a dash of fun.

Bottom line: if you want more than just a pizza night — you want a place with character, crowd energy, and food that holds its own — Happy Camper gets it right.

Christmas at Happy Camper is an immersive experience. Everywhere you look there are decorations and photo opportunities. Patio had amazingly effective heaters, i took my coat off to enjoy dining while outside. 2 seat tables that look like tinsel balls. Christmas trees. Disco balls. The DJ was cranking out some great music. Appetizers for the table were jalapeño poppers, elote dip and chicken fingers. All came out hot amd tasty. I wanted almost everything on the menu and settled on the birria pizza. The small size is ample enough to fill me with leftovers. The consomme for dipping was hot and had a little kick of heat. Delicious. Other guests at our table ordered the Tony large tavern style and Curt in 2 sizes and 2 different crusts and all enjoyed. The Nadene had dollops of ricotta.
Festive drinks we ordered were the naughty and nice which was a gingerbread white Russian and had cookies for dipping. The santa spritzer was so fun! It had a beautiful presentation and was so fun to pour the pomegranate ornament floating on top into the drink. I ordered 2 non alcohol beverages the hot and unbothered and the spicy not so Rita. Both were delicious with a little heat. Food came out piping hot and quickly considering how busy it was.
