The service is friendly, and I love that this is a local family owned restaurant. I do feel the pricing is a bit unfair – I was charged $14 and tipped $3 for takeout on fried tofu, and I was expecting a reasonable portion given the price but was given a small box with not even the equivalent of a full block that would cost me $2 at the store. This is a bummer, $17 for 10 mins of prep and nothing really special — just pan fried with peanut/soy sauce on the side. I hope they can price more fairly or provide more fair portions going forward, and wish them much success, as they seem like kind people.

Always a lovely experience.
Hot and fresh and great portions for 2 if you share haha or for one.
Authentic experience and flavors and aroma of hot and fresh Thai food.

Raised out in the streets of SFV and 30 years out here, 5yrs in Mississippi and 1 in AZ and I still miss the food in California hands down. As close to Thailand that I enjoy to afford. Haha always fun tasty food.

The Panang curry and the tonka soup are no where near being acceptable. No flavor and full of chunks of coconut milk. We left without eating much of the food at all.

If you grew up partying in or near the valley, especially in East Hollywood’s Thai Town, then you know Sanamluang. It was always super busy, and after a late night of drinks, Thai food was the perfect way to end the night. They used to stay open until 4 a.m. — back in the day. Fast forward 15 years and, especially after COVID, things have changed. The crowds have died down, and they now close at 9 p.m. When we visited during lunch, it was uncomfortably warm inside. Still, the service was as good as ever, and the food was always sooo damn good. I got the pad thai and pad prik king this time, and they were both just hit!

The best Thai food we’ve had in America! The crab cakes are a MUST! The food tastes super authentic and fresh, and service is 10/10.

Flavorless and overpriced combination fried rice with 2 shrimp, boiled chicken with no flavor. The crab cakes were ok but almost $20 for a 7 piece order. Try another spot in my opinion.

I am not sure if the chef changed but it is not the same flavor that we are use to from Sanamluang. Hainese chicken and rice is a pretty sinple dish and the sauce that makes the meal was way off.

We also ordered rad nah with ground beef and it was missing flavor. There is only so much vinegar pepper sauce u can add to it to try and help it.

The one dish that was good was gai pad grapow (basil chicken) this was pretty good.

The shrimp cakes were ok they now use a panko batter but it was still okay.

Papaya salad i think they are use to feeding non thai people bc I’ve never had som tom taste like this. It didn’t have all the components sour spicy sweet it was just watery sweet.

Maybe today was an off day for them but not sure if we will be trying it again anytime soon.
