Friendly, fast service. Food was good – shrimp, fries, coleslaw and gravy and fish and chips. We each had a pop and it was about $70 total with tax. The place is brighter than what I usually expect for a pub and there was a line up of people waiting for a table so it’s a popular place. Would recommend.

So this is one I have wanted to check out. My husband surprised me tonight with dinner here. We got in and we did wait at the door for a bit. We got in and shown to a table and told they would be right with us. When she came back, she told us they were short staffed, but from there things went up. She was amazing, we got our drinks and ordered our dinner. I am a East Coast girl from Nova Scotia with a Newfoundland Dad. They had cod on the menu, I had great hesitation ordering, especially knowing it is not fresh from our Atlantic. But, I was wrong and it was amazing and will order it again. We will definitely be going back and we loved our server who was amazing with our autistic son. Highly recommended by us.

We’ve lived in the area for several decades and I can’t recall a previous visit to the Rose & Crown Restaurant. However, accompanied with our two grandsons and looking for something different, we ended up having a pleasant lunch at the Rose & Crown.
The grandsons chose from the kid’s menu and ate chicken strips accompanied by chips for one and onion rings for the other. Grandma had liver and bacon with chips and I had a veggie curry with chips. The grandsons then enjoyed a dish of chocolate ice cream, grandma a coffee and me a pint of Hobgoblin.
Our dishes were tasty despite a common colour of light brown. A few colourful veggies would improve the presentation. However, there was no complaint over the $50 total and a $10 tip for good service.
For a small pub, I was impressed with the number of beers on tap. There must have been around a dozen taps although only one craft beer. I look forward to returning and checking out the supper menu.

Classic pub food that has not had a modern take put on it, which is hard to find to find nowadays.

Check out the menu from the outside a lot of the menus are posted, noticed that they had a shrimp pole boy.
Got it to go and then decided to sit at the bar great and Beyonds pictures of couples and memories slaughtered All Over the Bar. PoBoy was unique it was served with bacon and slightly fried. Would go back probably wouldn’t order the pool boy again but a great first time.

Came back, and glad I did. Had the Halibut special with 3 butterfly shrimp and a Strongbow. Perfect dinner after a hard day’s work
A traditional pub with good food, generous portions (only ate 1/2 my order) and fair prices. First time eating here as our usual place was without a cook.

Came in from Ottawa in search of amazing fish and chips and this place delivered. Paid a couple more bucks for the halibut which was worth it. Coleslaw was the only thing that wasn’t outstanding. Would highly recommend this place.

As a local, oddly, I’ve never been here before I decided to try it for lunch. I ordered lunch special cod n fries got Gf option. Food came out in a timely manner. Sadly, it was so bland n flavorless. I was expecting fries to have seasoning or herbs on them like other places. I like my food with seasonings and flavorful. This did not deliver that experience.
