2/2026:
Dropped by on a Sat night for some wings, bao buns, and soju. Everything tasted good per usual. This place never dissapoints!
8/2025:
I came during their $1 wing special in July.
I tried the spicy BBQ, spy garlic, yangnyeom, and regular flavored wings. They were all good. I liked the Korean BBQ the most (very sweet and savory) and the plain one the least. They have beer on tap for decent prices, too.
Customer service was good considering the place was packed.
There’s parking but the lot was packed. Most of the customers were from this restaurant too. I ended up parking on the street to save time.
The fried chicken was nice still, and worth ordering. The coating was thin and flaky. Inside was very juicy. I went when they had $1 wings promotion and I think it’s still ongoing. This promotion made it really worth it. The pickled radish goes better than the coleslaw as a side to me.
The bibimbap was very good too and it’s priced by which protein you pick. The Korean corn and corn dog didn’t stand out to me, but I think the food overall still deserve 5 stars.
I couldn’t resist trying one of their new menu items: bulgogi Tteokbokki. The best of both worlds! So savory! The perfect chewy bite!!
Don’t miss out on their Korean corn dog, pork belly bao buns, and crispy, spicy chicken sandwich!!
For the main event, we ordered the medium combo (8 wings and 4 drumsticks) with soy garlic and spicy flavors. Both were insanely good. You could tell they took the time to hand-brush the sauce on each piece—the chicken was fully coated, super crispy, and addicting. Every bite had us going back for more.
We added pickled radish on the side, which was a smart move—it helped refresh our palate between the two bold flavors. For drinks, we tried the Terra beer from Korea, and it paired perfectly with the fried chicken.
One last thing worth mentioning—they squeezed us in 30 minutes before closing on a Sunday night. Total MVPs for that. Honestly, one of the best spots for fried chicken in the SGV. We’ll definitely be back.
I also tried their chicken sandwich with fries and was pleasantly surprised. The sandwich was juicy and flavorful—not dry at all. They’ve got happy hour drink deals too, which is a nice bonus.
The shop is on the smaller side, so there might be a wait depending on when you go. But overall, when I’m craving KFC in the SGV, this spot is high on the list.
Crispy, saucy, and seriously addicting
Bonchon San Gabriel’s got the $1 wing deal going strong, especially with that Soy Garlic & Korean BBQ combo
Plus the new Bulgogi Takeover Menu is a must-try: Bulgogi Stir-Fry Udon & Cheesy Bulgogi Rice! Other must-orders are their Pork Belly Bao Buns, Potstickers, and ice cream to cool off. AND wash it allll down with $2 Drafts or $7 pitchers of 805 & Modelo
First time trying Korean-Asian Fusion cuisine or don’t know what to get? Order this lineup and thank me later:
soy garlic Wings
Korean bbq wings
Pork Belly Bao Buns
Potstickers
Bulgogi Stir-Fry Udon
Cheesy Bulgogi Rice
Korean Donuts & Sauce
The wings were perfectly crispy and crunchy, just the way Korean fried chicken should be with a crust-like finish, and came in three delicious flavors: the iconic Soy Garlic, the sweet and smoky Korean BBQ, and a third flavor yangyeom that rounded things out beautifully.
Each bite had that satisfying texture that Bonchon is known for, with flavors that hit all the right notes.
To wash it down, we had two Angry Orchard ciders on draft—crisp, refreshing, and a perfect pairing to the spicy-savory wings.
Overall, this visit was a hit, and I’d confidently give Bonchon San Gabriel a 7 out of 7 wings.
Also worth noting: they seem to run monthly promotions, so it’s a good idea to check in regularly for deals or new items.
Bonchon San Gabriel completely failed in both food quality and customer service, and this was hands down one of the most frustrating restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.
Let’s start with the food — because it was awful.
The chicken wings were extremely dry, overcooked, and disgusting. Not crispy — dry and stale. Every single sauce we tried — spicy, Korean BBQ, soy garlic, and yangnyeom — was dry, crusted, flavorless, and tasted horrible. Nothing tasted fresh. Nothing tasted right. It honestly felt like old food that should never have been served.
Now the service — which somehow managed to be even worse than the food. Sidney (who claimed to be the manager) and Raphael provided some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They were rude, dismissive, unprofessional, and disrespectful from the moment issues were brought up. No apology. No concern. No effort to fix anything. Just attitude, irritation, and a complete lack of accountability.
They made it very clear that customer satisfaction means nothing at this location. If Sidney truly is the manager, then this place’s problems start at the top. Their behavior alone was enough to make the experience completely unbearable.
I left feeling angry, disrespected, and completely ripped off. Bad food is one thing. Bad food AND horrible service is unforgivable.
Bonchon San Gabriel is a complete waste of time and money. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this location.
