Mondello’s Restaurant is nestled under some apartments in Magnolia Village. When my son, his fiancée and I entered the charming restaurant, the owner Sophie greeted us warmly with “Ciao” and indulged my speaking Italian to her. The walls are lined with art and other Italian decorative elements. My favorite was the Vespa transformed into a counter. The menu features authentic Sicilian Italian cuisine. I had fettuccine al Sorrentino. It was wonderful! The tomato sauce was perfectly spiced, and the homemade pasta was fantastic. I finished the meal with a limoncello. The service was excellent.

Mondello is, hands down, my favorite Italian restaurant in Seattle, and it’s been a Magnolia favorite for years for good reason. From cozy winter nights to sun-soaked summer evenings, the atmosphere is always warm, vibrant, and effortlessly charming. The food is consistently fresh, deeply flavorful, and unmistakably authentic Sicilian. Every dish feels made with care and pride. Whether I’m planning the perfect date night or gathering with family, Mondello is the place I trust every single time. Sofana and Aurelia are truly the soul of the restaurant; welcoming, gracious, and unforgettable. They make Mondello feel less like a restaurant and more like home. I always love the desserts (especially Sofana’s homemade cakes) and the gnocchi. I’ve been a regular for years and will keep coming back for years to come!

Went here for Valentine’s Day and didn’t realize there was a set menu, slightly unfortunate because I really wanted to try the tiramisu. Was 75 per person for four courses. Two out of the three appetizers listed on the menu were sold out so we had to get our last choice. The second appetizer was also sold out so again had to get another option which was unfortunate. The smoked meats were solid but really salty with the arugula for some reason. I got the squid ink pasta with seafood and my boyfriend got a beef dish and both were solid. I think overall the food was just okay for the steep price we paid and given what was available. I understand it’s Valentine’s Day and set menus are common but for what was offered on the menu and having a lot of the dishes be sold out I found it to be slightly ridiculous especially for such a steep price of 75 per person. Got the panna cotta for dessert and the chocolate tres leches cake- the panna cotta ran out of the strawberry compote because there wasn’t much and the tres leches cake tasted a lot just like chocolate cream. I would like to come back and try the food again with their normal menu, I’ve heard a lot of great things but I think for what I paid and the options given it was not worth it.

This restaurant is one of my absolute favorites in the Seattle area. Every bite makes me feel like I’m traveling to Italy and reminds me of the authentic flavors and tastes I experienced there. The owner is a precious Italian lady who has truly brought her culture and authenticity to Seattle. I love coming to this hidden gem. I highly recommend the lasagna and the ravioli!

Mondello Italian restaurant in Magnolia is excellent. It’s actually Sicilian style. It’s in a cute little area and has indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant has a charming look and feel and the staff is nice and direct. The food is delicious! It was amazing and we will totally go back. The pasta is fresh and made daily. The smoked salmon ravioli was excellent. We also ordered the fettuccine di mare which was great too. The kids ordered a mac & cheese and a lasagna and they thought it was good. Overall, the food is great and it was nice sitting outside.

I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Mondello Italian Restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the warm, cozy Sicilian-style atmosphere made us feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food. you can tell this is a family-run place with real pride in what they do.
We started with the fresh, warm bread at the table and immediately knew we were in for a treat. Every dish we tried was flavorful and made with care — the homemade pastas were outstanding, perfectly cooked, and full of authentic Italian character. The seafood pasta and chicken Marsala were particular standouts, and the wine selection paired beautifully with our meal.
The ambiance is perfect for a relaxed date night or dinner with friends, and the cozy interior.
Highly recommend Mondello for anyone craving genuine Italian cuisine in Magnolia we’ll definitely be back!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Mondello restaurant was truly disappointing. While the main dishes were decent, the “cake of the day” we were served had visible mold. When we brought this to the staff’s attention, the hostess offered a very dismissive apology and remarked that “these things happen”, even suggesting it must’ve happened to us before.
What really ruined the experience wasn’t just the mistake, but the lack of genuine concern or accountability from the staff. Accidents can happen in any restaurant, but how they’re handled makes all the difference. Unfortunately, this response left us with one of the worst customer service experiences we’ve ever had.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, as the restaurant does have potential, but food safety and respectful customer care need immediate attention.

My family visits this little gem of Italy right in Magnolia village almost every Friday night. The owners are charming, greeting our daughter as if she were family, remembering the details of our orders, presenting new regional wines, and always serving delicious food. 5 out of 5 stars every time. If you want to holistically experience authentic Italy in Seattle with a bit of familial warmth, come here.

Magnolia restaurant rating inflation in full effect. We ate here 8 years ago, it was a great experience. Since the we have been back two times. Each time disappointed, but then upon seeing reviews and hearing that people love this place, we just gave it another try. Not again. Barring a major overhaul, this place is out of second chances. Pasta overcooked, sauce lacked flavor, food overall greasy with poor presentation. Maybe we ordered the wrong things, but the best thing we had was the bread. Such a missed opportunity. Vibe is countryside vibes and is a little dated, but pleasant. Staff was friendly and attentive. It’s sad. I want so very much to support a local business and I know that it’s hard to run a restaurant on Seattle margins, but sadly they just missed the mark for us.
