This place could probably get by on location alone, the views of the lake and mountains are incredible and complemented by the rustic, warm interior and some soft jazz. But they’ve gone beyond to provide a quality dining experience. The service, food, and wine, were all exceptional 5/5. We started with the poke which was fresh and delicious. Followed by halibut for him and ravioli for me, both were beautifully presented and very good. The only thing that could be improved upon was our dessert. The bread pudding was a burnt to the point of bitterness on the bottom, so 3/5. Honestly, it could be that the rest of the meal was so enjoyable that the dessert came off as just meh. In any event, we are definitely looking forward to dining in this family run establishment again. The ribs looked amazing!
Made a reservation for the next night as nothing else is opened nearby in Oct and were hoping to try a bigger menu selection. The specials included “crab stuffed trout” which my son and i immediately were excited to order as we love seafood. When the meal came out it was just fish stuffed with rice. I asked the server where the crab was and he said “no, there’s no crab, just rice. Hope it still tastes good” and that was it. I asked the hostess for the specials menu again because how did we both read “Crab stuffed” wrong. Sure enough that’s what the menu says. She takes it back to the kitchen and says it must be a misprint “sorry”. I would think they would offer to change the bill or offer dessert or something. Disappointed both times sadly. Food did taste good but for the price we didn’t even get the seafood we were supposed to, very upsetting.
The brussel with pork belly was amazingly satisfying with the first few bites, but was a bit too oily and salty to finish the whole bowl – 4 star
The cheese/salmon plat is good as expected – 3 star
Overall love the place, great for late afternoon lunch after a ski day! I hope the chef can make the brussel and pork belly less oily / salty, or match some brother vegi with the dish.
