The Texas Roadhouse in Nampa has always been top tier in every way. Their food is excellent, the service cannot be beaten and the atmosphere is great. Some people may not like a “busy, loud,” type of atmosphere but although they are constantly busy it isn’t overwhelming. They serve some of the best steak I’ve ever eaten, always made exactly as ordered and the service is unable to be matched. It’s my absolute favorite restaurant.
The last time I went I was blessed to have a server by the name of Emma. I do not believe that I’ve ever had service as great as I did that night. Emma was sweet, easy to talk to and didn’t forget any point of service at all through the night. I feel like I can easily say she was the best server I have ever had. She kept an eye on our table all through the night while also taking care of her other customers as well. Even if the food hadn’t been as great as it was, Emma definitely would have made the experience worthwhile.

Worst experience I’ve ever had anywhere. Management tried kicking us out of our booth after we had been seated by the hostess. The story behind that was a few more people were added to the party at the last minute so we told the hostess and she said she could accommodate us with back to back tables as did the person seating us. The “manager” walked up two minutes later and said we had to leave the table. After standing my ground (respectfully but sternly) about already being seated at this table with three of my children, she finally allowed us to stay. I would have been fine being told if we had to get on the waitlist after adding additional people to our party. But that’s not what happened and then we suddenly were being held responsible for someone else’s choice to accommodate us. After the manager did that, the waitress attending our table barely took care of us. She avoided our table EVERY TIME she came to check on her section. Never got our drinks refilled despite asking twice. The server who took care of our parties adjoining table was incredible (Kaylee— the only great thing about this place)— she brought us boxes for our food and bussed our table when she didn’t have to because her coworker was taking an obvious resentment out on me and my children. The food was terrible and I mean terrible. My steak was undercooked and dry. My kids barely touched their food. The picture of my son’s burger doesn’t do it justice. The meat was completely raw. He didn’t notice it until a few bites in. I sincerely hope he doesn’t get food poisoning or worse from this. Don’t go here if you have an option.

Great lively place for lunch or dinner. I’m not a big fan of Texas food, so I’ll try to be fare. Too much meat for me. I had a pulled pork sandwich. The bun and the meat were great. That was the sandwich; a bun with meat. The waitress was kind enough to bring me some BBQ sauce so it wasn’t too dry. The chili was quite good (no beans; Texas). The meat was ground beef which was okay. It could be kicked up a notch with some steak pieces. The fries were adequate. Overall good if you like Texas style meat meat meat. I can’t fault them for being Texas. That’s what they are. Give me some coleslaw in my sandwich anyday.

We had a great dinner. We arrived a little before 5 and had no wait. Our server Shandee was very quick with service for refills on both bread and drinks, and because it is Monday, Magic Man Brad stopped by and entertained our kids and gave them balloons. It was the most enjoyable restaurant experience with my kids in a long time.

For Shame Texas Roadhouse, for shame. First timer here at the old road show. Based on the Idaho experience it may be a one and done. I ordered the 14oz boneless ribeye. Caesar salad, macaroni ($.99 extra) and the mashed potato.
I didn’t finish any of it. The meat was thin, overly salty and flavorless in the center without the fat. To its credit it was cooked well. Macaroni was certainly Kraft white cheddar that had been sitting in its serving cup since 3pm, Annie’s macaroni at best. Mashed potatoes were pretty liquidy (if that’s a word).
Drink wise I had the legendary margarita with the “patron” kicker for $3. I’m not sure it was patron as it tasted pretty foul but did improve the margarita once it was dumped in the marg.
I love meat. All of it. This was not worth the hype and I was excited about the experience. It was also the day before my birthday and no offer of a dessert or appy or anything. I was friendly, bonded with the waitress, smiled and was friendly.
Also. Kids? In the bar area? Come on Idaho. That’s not a value add having kids in the bar. They come swinging in and immediately start banging their silverware on the plates. No one wants that.
Be Best.

Our food was okay. The service was pretty rough. We were passed multiple times we asked about our rolls and kept getting told they’d be right out shortly. We got our rolls after we got our salads. I ordered a smothered steak with onions andmushrooms. It wasnt covered in either. My sweet potato didn’t come our until we asked for it. She made a comment ” I was gonna ask if you needed boxes but looks like you dont need any.” We had to ask twice for the smothered portion of the bill to be removed. It just wasnt the best service. We have never had this experience. For me it was more of a attitude issue. I understand that it gets busy around opening but we watched everyone around us get exceptional service so it was frustrating.

We decided that we were going to go out to eat dinner, but it was getting a little late so we looked around for somewhere that has a later closing time. We decided on TRH and got there 1.5 hours before closing. We thought that was a reasonable….but they behaved like we’d walked in 15 minutes before closing. From the 2 young ladies chatting about their lives at the hostess stand who gave each other “The Look” when we asked to be seated to everyone running around cleaning around us. Normally I don’t mind them doing their side-work around me but this was very intense and distracting. One of them was shaking a rug and vigorously sweeping out from under the table DIRECTLY across from us! I was about to jump up and say something but she must have seen my face bc she stopped. Our waiter at least had a good attitude, but was a bit distracted by all of the huddles of pretty lady wait-staff and felt the need to join in, which made it a little difficult to get his attention. We were out of there 30 minutes before closing. I could be wrong, but that seems reasonable to me. I don’t know if this is a management issue, like them yelling at the staff about getting 500 different “side-work” or closing chores done and only giving them 15 minutes past closing to get them done? Or the staff just being in a hurry to get done with the 500 side-work chores and get gone? I know that they are over worked and underpaid but considering what we paid for a couple of super thin cut steaks (not impressed), some sides, a starter and a couple of drinks (no alcohol), you would think that they could pay them better especially since, as I’ve recently learned, people in our little corner of paradise are a little bit sketchy on tipping!!! Just saying that next time I feel like going out to eat I’ll probably just hit a drive through. And if I’m craving a steak, I’ll definitely go to the grocery store and get a decent cut and cook it myself!!!

Our family always enjoys Texas Roadhouse. Even though it’s always busy they do a great job with service. Last night we went and Devin our server was exceptional.
