Just left here! It was so good! Reminded me of my mother and grandma’s cooking! So amazing, Hannah was very polite. Make sure we were satisfied with everything. Food came out fast. We ordered salt fish w fried bake, curry chicken roti, calilou, pholourie, and pelau. I’ll be back. As a Trini, I recommend!!!!!!!

Tried the curry plate with rice and peas and cabbage, curry goat roti and bake and saltfish. All were SOO delicious!!! I am in a food coma right now. Extremely authentic & great eat with different spice levels depending on your preference. The service was great. Would definitely recommend and will be back

Allyuh, listen to me…Teddy’s Roti Shop is the real deal. I was beyond impressed with the authentic taste (can’t stress this enough). Customer service was excellent, we were well taken care of. It’s such a good feeling to have this gem of a restaurant nearby when you feel like having food from home or whether you just love Trini cuisine. They have such an extensive menu, can’t wait to try the breakfast next!

Better atmosphere than previous location food is usually on point. Today was no exception. Had the Buss-up shot curry goat, small mango potato, chicken patties, and sorrel. All items where delicious. Forgot ro take a picture of meal.

Super friendly and kind service. Familiar with Teddy’s for years in terms of wrapped Roti’s. I was sure that doubles there would be tops for the DMV. This time we were sampling doubles and bake and what was supposed to be buljol. Doubles shouldn’t be served with an overpowering taste of curry. The chana should be more subtle tasting. Just a hint of curry, turmeric, pinch of masala and otherwise complemented by fresh seasonings, and other secret ingredients. The doubles here were salty, and curry overpowered the whole thing. Barra was also not thin and as plyable as anticipated. Buljol had no vegetables to mention besides a dot of spring onions here and there. Saltfish looked to boiled alone and not fried up.
Bake was decently big, but dry and thick. This wasn’t the Teddys experience I envisioned.

I’m a Barbadian who has been living in DC for the past four years. This was the best and most authentic Caribbean food I have gotten since being here. I got the chicken and potato roti and it 100000/10. It was so good I even bought for my track and field coaches at Howard. I would recommend anyone coming here. Great people, great vibes and even better food.

The only reason I gave Teddy’s 4 stars on the atmosphere metric was because it’s very small for dining in. But if it was a bigger shop, it might lose its ‘quaint-ness’. Call ahead for to-go orders because 90% of their stuff is fresh.
Unless you’re in DC proper, getting there is a chore but never, EVER a regret. Great food, charming people, Trini’ national pride executed professionally and consistently. A DC staple.
I recommend ordering something you’re not accustomed to getting. Expand your pallet. What you like, they’re just guaranteed to make well. Live a little!

10/10!!!!!! Delicious and authentic food! Roti is so silky !!! Yum! We enjoyed the atmosphere of Trini home so much . Price is favorable for the authenticity of flavors.(and homemade pepper sauce!)
