15° outside and we still had a great experience at Frank’s Pizza. Solid 4/5 and we’ll be back!
The parking lot had plenty of space, though it was a bit icy walking in, and the dining room felt calm with a decent front crowd, quiet vibe, and basketball on the TV. Menus were handed to us as we came in and you order at the counter, which kept things moving smoothly. Drinks came out right after we ordered around 7:40 p.m., and food followed quickly: the sub at 7:52, calzone at 7:57, and a large Frank’s Special pizza at 7:58, which is impressively fast for a Saturday night.
The “Al Burger” sub was a standout: soft, lightly toasted bread packed with meat (ham, salami, pepperoni), with a flavor that hinted at a sloppy Joe in the best way, plus a BBQ-style dipping sauce that worked really well. The calzone is legend at the Montgomery location, so expectations were high, but this one was a miss for us: smaller than expected and a bit on the greasy side (greasy is expected, maybe things were just bigger in the 1990s?), with a cold dipping sauce, though some might actually like that style.
The large Frank’s Special pizza was the star of the night, with a slightly chewy crust and a generous layer of toppings—especially mushrooms and cheese—that made it worth braving the cold for. Definitely 5/5 on the pizza meter.
Overall, solid service, great pizza, a fantastic hot sandwich, and just an okay calzone – we will definitely do it again!

$20 for 2 large pizzas is incredible and the pizza is amazing. Also had there boneless BBQ wings and they were out of this world too. Can’t get enough of this place, we have ordered food 4 nights in a row. Highly recommend!!!! Great friendly customer service as well.
