The food here was amazing especially the grill food and the chicken wings! Not like other places where the wings and egg rolls taste tough, these were perfectly crispy on the outside especially with their hot sauce so good! The prices were pretty reasonable too. Honestly, even Food Lion’s premade meals cost more and here you get an all you can eat buffet, which is such a great deal. The service was impressively fast and the little server rushing around was so hardworking and adorable to watch. As a local, I’ve tried plenty of places and this one definitely stands out! It’s worth a visit!

Im not sure this place got above a 3.5.. food was very mediocre. I seen the guy poor broth into the pans to “freshen” things up, but made what was suppose to be crispy chicken, mooshy. The rice on the sushi was mooshy. Nothing on the buffet sparked my interest for 2nds. Hope their kitchen was cleaner than the bathroom, which had toilet paper all over and didnt appear to be cleaned in weeks. Probably only reason so high, is because closest thing to buffet in this area. Find this review what you will, but you’ve been warned.

The Buffett had a large variety of choices. We walked in and were greeted and seated immediately. Drink service was speedy and we went right to the Buffett. The restaurant appeared neat and clean with staff generally cleaning as they went along. Our plates were cleared from the table quickly and the value for the meal was what you’d expect.

Heard about this place from my brother who loves nearby. It had a very large buffet compared to the ones i frequent in new bern. They have a hinachi service that i didn’t try, and sushi rolls (but they are just crab and California rolls, no nageri or sashimi). I loved that they had muscles and scallops available along with a lot of the regular staples (sause covered fried chinens, various stir fris). It will be worth the trip to drive out and go again next time i am craving it. Polite service that regularly clear your plate.

We were visiting from out of state, and read the reviews. Despite the negative ones, which those people have obvious issues, we decided to give this place a try.
Let me start by saying that the staff was extremely friendly and was quick to clear our table and frequently offered us refills on our drinks. The food was hot, fresh and tastefully seasoned having us going back for seconds. The fresh fruit was sweet and delicious. Whatever these other local people complained about was too damn picky in my opinion. This place is great and we will be back again next time we are in town. I highly recommend!!!

The food was great. The only thing that could have made the experience more enjoyable was the service. We had the tall skinny lady as our server/host. She was very rude. Slamming things down, snatching plates.

Decent amount of food. Was very clean and the nice workers cleaned and checked up on you often. Food looked fresh and good. Oh and if you are going to keep going (as you should) ask for a punch card so you can get a free meal. I got pictures, was good eating there again.

I have never been disappointed in my many visits to China Bay. They are consistent in the quality of their food and service. The establishment is always clean and their prices are reasonable for all you can eat buffet.
I would like to address the negative remarks left by another contributor, Bryce Esau. His statement the restrooms are single toilets and if occupied one cannot wash your hands is completely untrue. The restrooms are spacious with a toilet stall, a divided urinal, and a separate lavatory. Mr Esau knew this because he has dined at the location previously, as evidenced by his comment they had a price increase. Additionally, I do not know how many people go to restaurants to eat having dirty hands or who could not use the lavatory even if the stall is occupied. It seems unbelievable anyone would walk next door to wash their hands if this is what Mr Esau would have you believe.
Those who wish to leave negative feedback should at least be honest. Restaurants and other businesses often rely upon the reviews of others and dishonest, negative reviews can be detrimental to commerce.
