Diesel & Duke has been serving up fresh, never-frozen smashed burgers since 2014, and it’s easy to see why this spot has such a loyal following. Everything is cooked to order and packed with bold flavor.
The Smokeshow Burger is a standout—loaded with bacon, aged cheddar, a crispy onion ring, and BBQ sauce for the perfect sweet and smoky bite. The Chicken Caesar is another great option with a crispy chicken patty, miso Caesar dressing, Tuscan kale, and shaved Locatelli.
The fries are a must. The Chopped Cheese Fries are over-the-top in the best way, topped with a smashed patty, cheese blend, onions, seasoning, ketchup, and aioli. If you’re craving something classic, the Poutine with hand-cut fries, cheese curds, gravy, and scallions is also fantastic.
Don’t skip the Breakfast Sando—served on a toasted potato bun with pink sauce, crispy hash brown, soufflé egg, American cheese, and a house-made sausage patty. And to finish, the Banana Pudding with vanilla pudding, bananas, Nilla wafers, and whipped cream is the perfect sweet ending.
If you’re a burger lover, this place definitely belongs on your list.

So my bf and I ordered here through inKind , we didn’t know exactly how to use it because when we do we can order online and pay and pick up this store we had to order in store ,my bf had ordered and the account said it was paid he called to explain the situation and the people working just said smartly do you know how to use the app? Long story short we went in person my bf went in showed his screen shot of his phone and the money he paid ,Alex the manager an another employee were talking Spanish not realizing my bf is Spanish lol saying oh he’s trying to get free food ,so disrespectful this company like we showed we paid and just trying to get it situated . I wouldn’t recommend this place .

Edited: Had several issues with 3rd party deliveries (uber, doordash, etc.) but once escalating to the restaurant management, they made things right. They even went as far as to contact the delivery service apps themselves in hopes of getting more information to solve whatever the cause may have been. The food is good and the staff / owners are good honest people.

Been coming to this place for a few years now and I’m delighted to say it’s just as delicious as I remember! I was sad they took off one of my favorite burgers, but they replaced it with an equally as delicious one!
The fries are delicious, crisp and hand cut, the onion rings, are battered and fresh! Can’t go wrong with any of the burgers and if you’re feeling crazy, you should definitely make it a double Oh, and get the fried Oreos with Nutella just trust me.

Great customer service. DoorDash picked up order and was going to deliver it 1 hour later. Called the store, immediate answer and a resolution and refund. We didn’t expect that but appreciate it. Will def order again . Best burgers in Montclair.

This place is a bit of a nothing burger, if you know what I mean. One step above a McDonald’s and two steps below five guys shake shack or anything quality like white Mana. For the price, you get nothing more than a jumped up quarter pounder with cheese. There’s plenty of better burger places don’t go out of your way to go here.

Always searching for a good burger and this place has fresh & flavorful smash burgers. OH and the Poutine fries are AMAZING. The place is a clean, cute & small takeout shop with good amount of outdoor seating. The service was welcoming, everyone behind the counter smiled which is nice to see 😉
