Also very cute ambience and views from the cafe – will be back to this place very often!
We had the smoked salmon toast, dragonfruit bowl, and orange spice coffee. The toast was very tasty with a perfect ratio of thicker cut salmon, greens, pickled onion, cucumbers, and capers. It’s a bigger portion than I had expected, so it’s possible to share with someone if you don’t have a very big appetite. All the same, it was very satisfying and lived up to the health food theme. It’s just the kind of breakfast you want to have when you have a day of walking ahead of you. The dragonfruit bowl was good, but maybe just not as sweet as I would have liked. It was again a large and satisfying portion; I just think that the fruit itself wasn’t very sweet. I don’t fault them for it because I think I could easily have asked for some more agave syrup and they would’ve been happy to provide it.
I really enjoyed the seating options and the plants everywhere. There’s something about fake plants that always rubs me the wrong way, so to see a variety of healthy plants around the room is instantly very comforting. It’s one of those little things that signals to you that the owners care about the maintenance of their space. My partner enjoyed the orange spice coffee so much (the strong orange flavor is great for a citrus lover) that he ordered a second one to go. And the owner was so sweet and gave me some cuttings of their pothos plant in a little to-go bag.
We will be stopping by whenever we are in the area again. We’ll be looking forward to bringing our pup next time for a special pup cup.
First impression, it doesn’t look like a cafe from outside. But you’ll be surprised when you enter.
It’s a small and cozy cafe.
Tried the salmon toast, it was good but the bread was too crunchy for my liking.
The spicy crab toast ($17) was also okay. It has more tomatoes, and lettuce than crab.
They ran out of coffee so couldn’t try that which was a bummer.
The girl at the counter was very pleasant and patient in explaining the menu.
The service was quick.
My only suggestion would be to improve their serving dish.
Instead of a flat wooden board which yes looks good aesthetically a serving plate with slight edges might be better & practical.
Because the food was served in a flat wooden board it became very difficult to eat since the food was falling off.
Overall it was good small place for quick fix.
The atmosphere was equally impressive; everything was spotless and well-maintained, with a clean and inviting vibe. You can tell they put a lot of care into both the food and the space.
If you’re looking for a place with great food, a welcoming ambiance, and attention to detail, Toastique is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!
