Little Outlaw
Had the Royal Tea experience at Vampire Penguin today and it was exquisite! The table setting was absolutely adorable, the tea was phenomenal (highly recommend the Rooibos cotton candy) and the food was crave worthy. To top it off our server, Erica, was attentive and made certain our experience was perfect I’m already looking forward to going back with my daughter.

Mother’s Day Tea was so much fun! What better way to make someone feel special than a high tea with all the trimmings.

We celebrated my daughter’s 11th birthday today. Vampire Penguin was wonderful!! The settings were gorgeous, the communication clear, and the staff was awesome!! My daughter and her six friends were positively delighted!

First time trying Vampire Penguin Tea & Dessert, and it was fantastic. My wife wanted to check it out, so I went along – and it turned into a great little date. The food and desserts were amazing, and there’s a huge selection of teas to choose from. The service from Erica was truly 5-star – friendly, attentive, and absolutely perfect from start to finish. The place is nicely decorated, the teas and food were excellent, and we left completely stuffed. Highly, highly recommend! Located in The Palladio in Folsom.

I unfortunately would not recommend this place, as it is simply just very, very dirty. I went in to try their drinks with some friends on 01/02, and what we noticed immediately upon entering was how dusty and grimy everything was. The seats were just covered in dark smears, as well as the tables, likely from all the children that have parties here. All of the teasets they were selling were dusty, and on an even dirtier cabinet, and shoved in a corner behind a table and some empty boxes. The cashier counter was also covered in trash, which piled onto the food counter. The entire drink area (ice maker, water, ingredients) was surrounded by more dirty items and had boxes piled on. It’s not that big of a deal, I’ve worked in a similar environment so I understand that you can’t always be organized, but at least try to hide the mess, especially around food. The bathroom entrance was also mostly blocked.
Anyways, we did end up ordering drinks; two lychee milk teas and a taro milk tea. The menu was also hidden under trash. We were also under the impression that the teas came with toppings in them (just boba), as that was in the photos, and the cashier + menu called it a boba milk tea. The cashier also asked if we wanted extra toppings, so the wording gave the impression there already were toppings.
We were in pretty late, so I won’t fault them too much, but we were alone and the drinks took about 20 to prepare. They employees did not have gloves while preparing the drinks and scooping our ice. One of them also dropped all of the cup lids on the floor, proceeded to grab all of them with their bare hands, set them back on the counter, and continue touching everything while making our drinks. The ice machine was also open and exposed half the time.
We did get our drinks, but they weren’t very good. The lychee milk tea just tasted like extremely sweet milk, and the taro milk tea was like water. They both had odd aftertastes. We ended up throwing them away, which I feel incredibly awful about, but they were hard to drink. We also just didn’t feel comfortable drinking anything prepared after seeing how bad the hygeine in this establishment was.
Sucks that it was such a bad experience, but it was just hard to ignore how dirty it all was I should’ve said something and asked for a refund, but I didn’t, so I’ll make it up and leave a review warning anyone who wants to check the place out. I wouldn’t recommend coming here.

The ambiance is so cute and there wasn’t a bad tea. Great experience for a birthday. Reservations are needed. Food is great and staff are awesome and accommodating.

I genuinely love Vampire Penguin’s food and ice cream, which made this experience especially disappointing. I was really excited to stop by after dinner tonight, and their hours were posted as open until 9:00 PM. I arrived at 8:53 PM, well before closing, but was told they were already closed and wouldn’t serve me.
I understand needing time to clean or wind down, but if the posted hours say 9:00 PM, customers should be able to order until then. The inconsistency between the listed hours and actual closing time was frustrating, especially since I made the effort to get there specifically because I believed they were still open.
Great product, but the hours and customer experience need improvement.

Had a great time with my girls for afternoon tea! The staff was extremely helpful at accommodating us for same day reservation! The pricing was reasonable for the amount of things that Are set out, We enjoyed every minute there and the tea was delicious! Will def be returning. Cutest place ever!!!

We recently celebrated my daughter’s 3rd birthday with a TEA PARTY at Vampire Penguin, and it was more than we could have ever wished for! The place is a dreamy paradise of pink and flowers, truly every little girl’s dream. We all dressed up and wore fascinators, and the team there absolutely loved the effort we put in. They didn’t think it was weird at all and genuinely appreciated it.
We spent 2(!!) hours there, and it was so much fun—the time just flew by! The entire staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even giving us extra cheese for our littlest girl. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a magical and memorable TEA PARTY!
