Mountains Are Best
Another visit. Excellent again. Grilled and fried halibut super, veggies and asparagus good. The peach crème brûlée was the topper!
All our dinners were excellent, well cooked and fresh. Chef salad, grilled salmon, prime rib were each very good. Baked potato with cheese and scallions was super as were grilled wild mushrooms. Crème brule was a nice finish. Better than our last trip and similar to the old days. We’ve eaten here for many years. Pricey but worth it.

The crab dip was good, but the round tortilla chips paired with it were an odd choice. Ordered a medium rare ribeye that came out medium. Not terrible but wasn’t very flavorful either. The twice baked potato was too soupy. Maybe less butter or sour cream would be better. The server was nice but didn’t ask to serve another beer until we were done. The place is a neat eclectic place that was formerly a farm and fun to hang out in. I can’t remember what if any music was playing. I will try it again next time I’m here. All in all it’s a good place, especially with limited choices in the area that I’ve found so far.

My husband and I came to dinner for our anniversary and the waitress was absolutely amazing…I think her name is Sallie B. I had the pork nachos and he had the slow roasted prime brisket with baked potato. Food was great, service excellent, will definitely be back

What a strange experience… six of us visited for dinner and none of us enjoyed our food. The crab cheese dip appetizer came with small tortilla chips, definitely not made fresh. The dip was pretty thin and had the tiniest hint of crab taste. In my opinion it should’ve been cheesier and have more crab flavor. The brisket was dry and overcooked. Pictured is my leftover brisket and bread. The prices are very high, sides aren’t included but our server didn’t say that. When she took our order we said the entree we wanted and then she asked right away what side, which led me to believe at least one side was included for an expensive entree – but alas you pay an extra $4 for one small, shriveled, poorly cooked baked potatoes. The brisket costs $22. They offer “skanky” mac, which is mac n cheese with bleu cheese and it was pretty gross (it lived up to the name ) and it was a super small portion. Atmosphere is a little weird but initially we thought it might be kind of fun. No music playing, just lots of weird paintings. The booth seats were comfortable at least but that’s probably the only positive thing I have to say here.

This was absolutely the worst food I have ever eat. Way overpriced nothing I had was good. I had catfish baked potato and salad. The bread is absolutely ridiculous The catfish was mud. The price was really ridiculous. If you are looking for a place to eat please don’t stop here.

After spending $95 which was the biggest waist of money I wanted to warn people before they go. This was our first time eating here and we assumed it was a bbq place bc of the pigs outside and the smoker. I got the ribs and they were straight up out of the crock pot. They were so drenched in this real dark bbq sauce that was not edible They were the worse thing I’ve ever had. You couldn’t stand to eat them. Then we got a child’s pizza off of the child’s menu that was $16 which was the cheapest thing u could get on the child’s menu, I’m pretty sure it was frozen. I wish there was at least 1 thing I could say that was good but there wasn’t. Beware of this place. It’s way overpriced and nothing is good.

Love this place for many years! So unexpected combination of foods in Pounding Mills VA. Their steaks are excellent and crazy portions. So many appetizers to choose from… Had the mushrooms, oysters, catfish bites and fried jalapeños – all excellent! I’ve never had their BBQ. It’s the only thing other people have ordered and not liked that I know of. Not sure why really. So I’ve had seafood curry, steaks, fish – excellent.
The decor is eclectic to say the least.

Cuz’s Uptown Barbeque what the HELL? The more I go, the more I’m disappointed.
Last week I ordered food and waited 2 HOURS to receive my order, come to find out it hadn’t ever been placed.
Decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and try again. Ordered a Ceaser salad and this is what I received.

Been here several times but today will be our last time here. We ordered crab cheese dip- it arrived as a bowl of melted velveeta cheese with no crab and store bought Tostitos. Then they brought what we ordered: I ordered brisket with twice baked potato. Counted in the meat of the brisket were 2 slices of pure fat and the twice baked potato was cold. My husband ordered the catfish- it had absolutely no seasoning on it. It was like spongy water. We did let our waitress know that the dip wasn’t good and the other problems. She brought me another plate and the brisket was good and the potato was hot. However, customer service is highly lacking. I thought with the multiple problems they would at least take the dip off of our bill ( we couldn’t eat it ) That’s a big NOPE. Our waitress said “I am sorry for your experience- come back again and we’ll make it up to you.” Why wouldn’t you make it up to us right then and there? We weren’t expecting a free meal. We have no reason to return- so there’s no way to make it up to us. You’ve lost some loyal customers. We are highly disappointed.
