Out here for work and the local coworker asked me where I wanted to eat. “Lets to go Castroville!” In a confused face he responded“What the heck is out there?” He literally ate those words. A nice peppery and smoky brisket. And the lean portion was so moist and the way it hit the light coming in from the window was mesmerizing. The jalapeño cheddar sausage had the most perfect ratio of cheese and pepper flavor. And a heat that is slight enough to enjoy. My bite into the ribs cant even be called a bite. It held its shape but the resistance from my teeth felt almost nonexistent. Man I could eat these ribs all day. Such a great meal and I even got to check out the pit room as we were leaving. Now my coworker knows what the heck is out there in Castroville. Lol.

Great stop for delicious BBQ! We got a family platter and everything tasted amazing. Honestly surprised by how much brisket they gave us, we couldn’t finish it all. If you happen to be hungry in Castroville, I recommend this place to eat!

We had a delicious lunch here! It’s a super cute place to dine in. Staff were welcoming and informative. The food is served to your plate in front of you at the counter. I had the pork belly with 2 sides – Slaw and Cheesy potatoes. It was all delicious, but the chest potatoes were PHENOMENAL! My husband had the brisket which he said was incredible with 2 sides – The potato salad (with dill) and creamed corn. We shared a banana pudding for dessert and it was delicious – Not over sweet like so many other places. This was homemade and awesome. It was honestly one of the best BBQ experiences we’ve ever had! We will definitely be back with family when they visit.

There are so many barbecue places in the greater San Antonio area but some stand out above the rest. And this is one of them for me. The brisket is moist and flavorful. The sides are unique and delicious. The nachos and loaded fries and magnificent creations. And the crew is just as great as the food. Be prepared to drop a few dollars but I promise it’ll be worth it.

Restaurants these days have been so incredibly disappointing with horrible service, outrageous pricing and dirty service areas but not this one. Castroville Barbecue Company deserves to be in the lime light with all of its glory! The service at CBBQ CO. was outstanding! They gave honest recommendations though they had ran out of some menu items! This is a good omen. Lastly, the quality of the food was PERFECT. I recommend that anyone AND everyone come and dine here. You will not be disappointed.

Edit: i went recently and was pretty disappointed with the service and food was cold. Charged me extra bc i got double brisket and chicken for my 3 meat plate. And wanted to charge me $3 for 4 slices of bread. I would think it would come included in the meal

The brisket melted in the mouth. Wow! Juicy and Delicious! The green beans had tomatoes onions and bacon which made the green beans absolutely delightful. The creamed corn was also a treat.

Wow, what a spot! This place is amazing! It’s busy, it’s crowded, but it’s worth the wait. I definitely just found my favorite BBQ place. Everything you see in the pictures was delicious! The brisket and ribs were smoked to perfection, and everyone knows…a good BBQ spot has to have good sides…and they do!
Plenty of parking across the street, be warned, the line can be long. We waited in line to order for at least an hour…to be fair, it was on Father’s Day, so that may have played a role in being busy. After tasting this food, something tells me it’s busy all the time.
They do have a bar out back, and I was surprised to see live music being set up. This could be a great place to hang out in the good weather months. They even had some play areas for the kids. It’s definitely worth checking out at least once.

Its a shame I didnt take pictures of my food, but this place is delicious! I had the brisket burger and fries, YUMMMM! The fries tasted so good and they fry everything in beef tallow which is important to me! They also sell 1877 mineral water, my FAVORITE! My husband had the BBQ and he recommends it too! If you’re out and about in Castroville check this place out!

I’m not going to lie, this place used to be my favorite BBQ spot in all of San Antonio. They had this pickled garlic that was to die for, along with a honey mustard sauce, but sadly they no longer have either. I ordered the brisket Philly, and my wife got a two-meat plate. They gave my wife her plate as ordered, but I waited about five minutes for my food. Not the end of the world, but her food was getting kind of cold while she waited for mine. I don’t know if something was different this time, but the meats tasted off compared to what I remember. I don’t come here often, and when I do, it’s usually to savor how good this place is. I’d love to come back in a few months, but for now, I’m going to take a break. Still a good BBQ spot.
