We went for a family luncheon right before a memorial service. The service amazing. The food amazing. Our waitress Veronica took care of us. Us out-of-towners appreciate the service and food.

Great diamond in the rough restaurant. Looking for a great Mexican restaurant and was referred to this location.

It wasn’t hard to find, but you could drive pass it like we did based upon its positioning. Parking can be limited, especially on a busy night. We arrived just in the nick of time immediately after a professional baseball game. It appears everyone had the same idea.

We were seated immediately, our waiter was friendly and hospitable. Our food came out promptly and hot. There portions were generous.

The restaurant was clean as well as the women’s bathroom.

If I am ever in the area again, I would definitely stop in and eat.

Armando’s Mexican Restaurant is a classic spot in Detroit’s Mexicantown and has been serving authentic Mexican food for more than 40 years. The place has a lively, colorful atmosphere that makes it feel like a true neighborhood favorite.

I ordered a plate of fajitas and some tacos, and the food was flavorful and satisfying. The portions were generous, and everything came out hot and well seasoned. They’re also known for their famous Detroit-style botana, a huge shareable platter loaded with chips, meat, cheese, and toppings.

The service was friendly and the vibe felt relaxed and welcoming. Overall, Armando’s is a great place to enjoy traditional Mexican food if you’re visiting the Mexicantown area of Detroit.

Absolutely one of the best meals I’ve had in a while at a very decent price.

Chips and salsa served while waiting were very freshnand yummy, the chips were still warm.

Started with the queso flameado (flaming cheese). It was a fun dish and the flavor of the cheese was stunning, we could not stop eating it.

I ordered the cabo wabo, and my wife ordered the borrow burrito. Both dishes were amazing, and were big enough that we had enough food the next day left over for another meal.

Finished with the flan – beat flan I’ve ever had. Silky and creamy, custard had a very good vanilla flavor, and the caramel had an deep smokey, almost Imani flavor to it

Service was excellent too, we had a very friendly server who was very attentive and had the perfect balance of checking on us enough but not too much to keep interrupting, perfect.

10/5 – a perfect experience with incredible food. Will definitely revisit many times.

me, my girlfriend and her two kids went to
this restaurant we were referred by a couple people said the food was great while entering the place we noticed that there was a couple friends in there eating so we figured what the heck we would sit down together. It took us over an hour to get our drinks more than 20 minutes after making the order for the alcohol drinks they came. The food came fairly quick. The waitress could not keep up at all. She had too many tables in her section and she just wasn’t a good waitress anyways when the night was over we got one big huge bill with a 20% tip on it and she made one bill and said they could not do separate. That is ridiculous. We did not go in there as a party and did not sit as a We were just sitting next to each other then she split the bill up and did not split the bill up correctly at all. There were issues on the bill where they added stuff that was not added. We had two people asked for to go orders. She put them in the same bag we got charged $16 for a beef quesadilla when we asked for chicken. The chips were not fresh and hot and boy did we wait forever to get our drinks and get checked out of there? Me and my family will never go back ever again. The server did not know what she was doing and very weak and she told us that management was upset that she split the check. She was not worth $50 for a tip when she barely came to our table to check on anything and she wasn’t even the woman that brought us the food. we have been going to Mi Pueblo for over 15 years and we will not ever go back to Armando‘s again the management, the staff and everything even when we asked for a manager, they never came to the table and we were in a hurry so we got up and left The servers name is Melanie B there were only 10 people. She’s got down here 11.

The place was totally empty today which was surprising. The place used to be crowded for lunch and packed for dinner. Had the Mexican Sandwich with extra cheese. It was fresh, hot and yummy with a side of guacamole. Large portion, where I ate half and took half home for later. I also had a margarita. It wasn’t strong AT ALL so I ordered a side of tequila. Ambiance is family friendly. The bill was $85 for lunch! We used to come down and eat for about $50. It was good, but probably won’t be back for a while.

Ordered through DoorDash and got two flimsy birria tacos with barely any meat and a lot of cheese. I paid $12 they have two tacos in the picture on DoorDash ( I got two orders so was expecting 4) and the corn chips were stale and unsalted. This place is inconsistent

I was at the MexicanTown Bakery and decided to get a bite to eat before heading home. Armando’s was across the street and decided to give it a try. The parking lot was pretty full for a Sunday which led me to believe that it must be ok.

Great service. All of the staff members that I interacted with were welcoming and friendly. Food was authentic and the salsa was delicious. The Birria-rito is ginormous and good. I was only able to eat half of it, so the other half became dinner the next day. The tacos were good. Had the carnita, al pastor, and Baja tacos. Will definitely be back. I want to try their pozole.
