Today, I ordered the “avocado toast” online, which, let’s be real, is probably the most basic thing they can make. It took me about 5min to walk there. No customer in store or in the drive-thru. I still waited 12min while watching this kid make 2 of them – moving like MOLASSES! I rushed out of there to find out later that there was no everything bagel seasoning, bacon was not cooked and forget the actual toast part of it all. Just avocado paste slapped on some piece of bread.
Plain laziness every time! They always look like they’re working in a prison kitchen.
If you’re going to sell avocado toast, at least toast the damn bread. Not brain surgery!
I asked for a cup of hot water and noticed I was being charged. When I inquired, the manager confirmed there is a fee for the cup. I mentioned that Starbucks does not charge for this, and an employee, Ms. Najeebah, rudely blurted out, “We are not Starbucks.”
She was absolutely right—Dunkin’ is not Starbucks. But it’s precisely that kind of attitude that shows why the customer experience at Dunkin’ will never compare. Good customer service, humility, and respect go a long way, and those qualities were missing here.
To be fair, the manager did handle the situation appropriately by saying I could have it this time but that in the future there would be a charge. That would have been fine if it ended there. Unfortunately, the employee’s unnecessary rudeness left a lasting negative impression.
Because of this encounter, I won’t return to this store—and truthfully, I don’t care much for the chain in general. Perhaps I might have given it another chance, but the lack of professionalism made the decision easy.
If I could give negative stars I would.
Update: got a bagel with a full grown hair in it. Always check your food! Gross!
This morning I came into the store with my 3 year old son and she felt the need to walk up to my son and I and say if you leave napkins on the floor don’t come back into this store.
I used to bring my son into this location every morning to eat breakfast but now I will choose another location because of her constant attitude and general rudeness. You don’t confront customers with attitude customers who come in every morning and spend their money in the store.
