Very disappointing experience. The only good item we had was the pakora, everything else was below average. The biryani didn’t taste like authentic biryani at all, and the garlic naan seemed to be made with garlic powder since there was no real garlic flavor. The masala tea was also very disappointing; it tasted just like plain Lipton tea bag tea rather than proper masala chai. Overall, the food lacked flavor and authenticity. Unfortunately, it felt like a waste of both our time and money. I would not return and cannot recommend this place.

I did a lot of take out here. I love their biryani, Kadai, Butter Chicken, and the spinach curry. Their chicken, beef or lamb are very good. No strong smell for the lamb which is amazing. The portion is generous and the service is excellent. So many brings their kids there to introduce them to a different cuisine which is lovely.

I read some reviews that rated this place very highly, so I drove out of my way to come here right when they opened for diner at 5pm. An older lady was getting out of her Mercedes right as I approached the door, so I held it open for her. She gave me not a single glance or thank you, just walked through the doorway like she owned the place. Apparently she does! I was the only customer there, and she treated me as if I was some vagrant trying to steal her purse. She asked if I was dining in, I said yes. I got a table and a menu. I asked a few questions about the food, and she was the opposite of helpful. She was incredibly rude and offered no advice on what to order. I wanted a meal, with rice, some sides, something! She kept telling me that the Tikka Chicken was the best and it was a “sizzler”. I had no idea what she was talking about. I asked if that meant a kabob? She said no, a sizzler. After getting no where for a few minutes I just ordered the Tikka and an order of Naan. It came quite a while later. It was simply chicken on a bed of onions. NOT what I wanted. I have had chicken Tikka Masala, and it always has a tomato based sauce. This was simply grilled chicken which was quite dry. For $15, this was not a meal. The Naan was another $4.
The restaurant itself is rather shabby. Overall I do not recommend and will not go again. Many other options for better Indian/Pakistani food.

I ordered the butter chicken (spicy) and it was absolutely delicious!! They were very generous with the chicken and it was hot (temperature) upon delivery. I will DEFINITELY be ordering again and adding it to my rotation.

Went here after reading reviews. Service was thumbs up! Full stars!
We had a bunch of things from pani puri, samosas to curries and the bread basket (great value)! It was my son’s Bday and they treated him very well! Would def come back!

UPDATE: I decided to go back again, which was always the plan since the food is unbelievable (best in Katy for sure). Met the owner’s wife and had a great conversation with her! Exactly what I was expecting the first time around. Super dignified and respectful. I will leave the details of the conversation out but long story short, she agreed that the previous visit wasn’t a good experience for a customer, especially a regular customer. When she saw we were ordering our regular choices, she suggested a different appetizer (samosa chat) and a different chicken entree (kadai chicken). And as always, her suggestions were awesome! We still haven’t had anything here that we have not liked. As always, highly recommend the food here. Am super happy that we are back to good experiences here!
UPDATE: I am not sure what happened, may be the owner was having a bad day or something, but he didn’t do the substitutions that we always used to get. May be a change in policy? Nope. He says in his 3.5 years, he has never done that. I have a bigger issue with the denial than not getting the substitution. So not sure if his employees used to do that behind his back or the policy changed recently (which he denied BTW). And he seemed rude too, not sure why. They used to be very welcoming, used to remember me by name and then suddenly this behavior. It’s sad because the food is really good and I want this to be my go to place for Indian food but bad customer service is something I cannot stand. So updating my review from 5 to 3 just for bad customer service. Hopefully this will change and they will go back to how it was in the past. I will be the happiest one to change my review back to 5 stars.
A great place for Indian food in Katy! There aren’t many Indian places here (which is a big surprise for me given the Indian population here), but even if there would have been, Kurry Walah would have topped it! We wanted to try as many dishes as possible since it was our first time, so we ordered the thali, which is kind of a sampler for two (I think it would have worked even for 3 people, the portions were that generous). We ordered a lacha parantha on the side and boy, it was awesome! The masala chai was strong (in a good way), good to keep me awake for some time! The service was great too and the ambience is cozy. Honestly, cannot think of any reason to deduct even 1 star. Highly recommend this place (coming from an Indian)!

I decided to try Kurry Walah based on reviews and it’s close location. I am so delighted I did as this is truly some of the best Indian cuisine I’ve ever had! Since I’m a new customer, I tried the dinner for 2 as it has a good sampling of quintessential Indian dishes. I asked for “medium heat w just a little kick, but not hot” and they were dead on with the spice level. The food was fresh, the lamb superb which is hard to find especially these days. The flavors in every dish were warm and comforting, which is what I truly love about Indian food. The presentation was lovely as well. The staff was just as warm as their food, checking on me several times. I can’t name one person specifically because literally everyone checked on me at least twice. Please do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a meal here. You won’t be disappointed!

Delicious buffet. Unlimited Nan! Very good quality! Spicy additives are all separate on the side and you can add when needed.

I think our lips are still tingling from Kurry Walah!
My husband called their bluff ordering medium spice – they aren’t playing!
Butter chicken is a favorite. We had biryani with lamb and it was extremely flavorful, very tender.
Don’t sleep on the naan! They have several versions to choose from and the garlic is phenomenal.
Our samosa appetizer was very dry, but they brought out sauces made in-house and that saved them.
KW is a quaint spot, but big on service and spice!
