This is my favorite spot! It’s a nice little joint, not very big but that’s okay.

The food is delicious, I always get the fried seaweed rolls, spicy rice cakes (tteokbokki) with cheese, and their bulgogi. Their side dishes taste fresh and have a very nice flavor, the potatoes and the bean sprouts are my personal favorite. The menu is big, so a lot of options for everyone! It’s a bit pricey, so don’t be surprised if your bill is big. My husband and I spent about 80$ (tip included) yesterday when we went. The portions are very large, so you get what you pay for! You can also split the whole entire meal among your group, the most I’ve done is split three ways, which is so nice and convenient!!!

The staff is very attentive and very friendly, they’re very quick too!! Everything always comes out quickly, even when they’re busy. Everyone does a great job, from the staff who works in the kitchen, to the staff who attend to the dining room. I’ve never had a negative experience here!

Great casual Korean food. All the hits, fast kitchen, solid flavors. Ordered seafood pancake, glass noodle stir fry, dolsot bibimbap, extra kimchi… All good.

Chef has a deft touch. No frills dining area.

The decor is kind of like a big open space seating area so not really cozy but that being said the food and the service is excellent and things are a little bit pricey but the quality of all the offerings is excellent especially the tofu seafood soup. The kimchi dumplings were disappointing as no taste of kimchi. Love all the sides that comes with an entree.

Inside decor needs some work but shouldn’t take away from the food. Side dishes are great. Tried the spicy seafood stew which was ok. Broth needed something a bit more but isnt my normal order. I normally order the spicy beef stew which is great. I try to stop in once a week when I travel through town. The sides of kimchi, bean sprouts and broccoli are where its at. Always friendly staff. Love the bean sprouts and spicy crunchy sprouts but prefer the bean sprouts and broccoli.

I’m giving this place the best rating I can because it’s fantastic! The food is delicious, we’ve not had issues with service, and I kind of like the moderate bustle of the place.

I visit this place routinely on my own, with friends, and I recommend it frequently for people who are looking for a good Asian restaurant and I’ve been eating here a couple years now.
They have so much good food and neat things that can be difficult to find, like blood sausage. I never remember to take pictures because I start eating as soon as I get my food! I love their banchan (the little dishes they bring with your meal) and love that you can get it to go! I get their cucumber banchan and spiced radish banchan to take home and use it in my own dishes and have even stopped in for just that. I’ve never had to wait for a table (even with multiple people) and service has always been prompt and the servers helpful. Sometimes this place is busy and a bit noisy, but it usually doesn’t seem too loud.

The seafood pancake is great, ramen, katsu,..heck, get everything! And if you’re at Kimchi then you’re right down the street from an an Asian market that’s worth a stop, too.

KIMCHI is our favorite restaurant in town. The food is unashamedly Korean and is always delicious. We’ve tried items from every part of their menu except hotpot and never been disappointed. We have brought many people who’ve never tried Korean food before and the experience is never disappoints. If you’ve got a pretty American palette, I’d suggest a bulgolgi dish of any type. Id also suggest looking for dishes that come with side dishes (banchan). You’ll get a good range of flavors from that alone. Some spice is stronger than others, but Korean spice is much more flavorful than hot. Go for the spice if you want to try it!

The service is always good here and coming for my birthday, they gave our table two extra orders of fried dumplings as a gift. They’ve treated my family like their own and we deeply appreciate it every time.

It may seem pricey at first, but it’s absolutely worth it for the quality of both the food and service. This is my favorite restaurant in the WLAF/LAF area during my time at Purdue, and I’ve made many meaningful memories here with friends, family, and even more often, just myself.

I’ve come here to celebrate and during difficult moments, and the staff’s kindness—occasionally offering free appetizers— has meant more to me than they probably knew. With its warm ambience, friendly staff, and authentic Korean cuisine that feels like a home-cooked meal, Kimchi truly embodies Asian family dining culture.

I want to thank the one staff especially who I believe asked to remain anonymous, as they told me it was their last day, and wish them the best success in the future.

This place was my first time trying a Korean restaurant ever and I am absolutely amazed. I had the bulgogi and it was one of the best tasting things I have had in a long time. The kimchi pancake was also amazing!! The servers were so kind and attentive. I loved that my meal came with a variety of kimchi and pickled vegetables. My fiancé and I will 100% be returning soon!

Hidden gem. Very authentic Korean food.

Came on Sunday for lunch and the place was packed but we were seated very quickly.

Bordering on good authentic Asian nook, great staff, large menu, familiar and somewhat Americanized options make for easy eating in this low ceiling quaint spot. My sister and I enjoyed the glass Noodle and dumplings apps. Her basic big soup and my bulgogi were fine. There’s nothing surprisingly great or annoying here, feels like some local spot copy pasted into the west side of Lafayette. I personally like the wild cultural experimental cuisine at Kitami downtown and Noodle Thai South but Kimchi has a broad appeal that’s certain to plesse.
