I have been coming to Shoji’s for my birthday ever since they opened…
The food is alway consistently delicious.
Tonight I was in with my family to celebrate my 60th birthday.
As always the food was delicious. The cook was just a average joe. No showmanship or skills used for the entertainment and flare that Shoji’s used to be famous for. It used to be a culinary entertainment show of knife skills, cookery and flare, entertainment for the entire table to enjoy.
Thank you for keeping the consistency with the food quality, BUT PLEASE CONSIDER BRINGING IN A TRAINER TO INSERVICE THE COOK STAFF ON HOW TO BRING THE CULINARY ENTERTAINMENT BACK.

I may be the only one who experience this so my point may be moot. I made reservations for a certain time and day. It was repeated back to me. This was a birthday dinner for my daughter. When we arrive I was told I had no reservation. The hostess said she remembered the call but she said she thought it was Saturday. They were booked and had no room. She said she was so sorry. I left and was quite embarrassed since we had planned this for weeks. This may be an isolated event.

Never impressed with the service..waited 45 min for a table then another 30 min for the cook. Food is always good though, portions aren’t always fair when you have a whole table to share amongst.

We would come to be entertained by the chef cooking for us, but there was none of that this time. He cracked 1 joke when he first came out and that was it. The food was bland and by the time he went to cook the chicken the grill was so dirty the chicken ended up tasting burnt and when he put it on the grill it was pre- cooked. No early bird special anymore and no entertainment. very disappointed in everything.

Had a good experience tonight I recommend the emperor’s choice unfortunately where I sat i got to look at absolutely filthy backside of the grill uhg. Long wait though and you sit with strangers while you dine. That can be fun or a nightmare…

Haven’t been to Shojis in 20 years and remembering it was pretty good then so decided to try it out Halloween night. The food was amazing, steak was excellent, teriyaki chicken was fabulous, rice and vegetables were great. Atmosphere was perfect and the Chef was very entertaining and good. We really enjoyed the night out, service all around was exceptional. Thank you for the great service.

Shojis is not the same restaurant. The Chicken Teriyaki is no where what it used to be. This place used to have the best chicken teriyaki and now way over priced for what you get. Service was good with a 5pm reservation we got seated and served quickly.

The worst restaurant experience I have ever had. During mid-winter, the air was blowing on us to the degree that I had to go to the car and get my wife a blanket. By the time the meat was done our rice was cold and the “hot” tea was cold. They said it was the vent pulling air up which was not the truth since our napkins were moving from the airflow and they messed up the order numerous times. I let the manager know what was happening he apologized and said they would discount the bill, when we went to pay the owner said they wouldn’t be discounting it. I will never go back to this place. Also, the steak was low grade.

THE DISHWASHER NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!! I don’t know why every time I have a appointment set up it’s 45 minutes after they seat you until they even start to bring out the food to start cooking. The visit this go around was not so great it could be because they switched owners. The thing that really got me was how filthy the dishes and silverware were. The dishes had deep scratch marks on almost everyone plate sitting next to me along with HEAVY SOAP/WATER STAINS. The next thing I noticed was little dried pieces of food stuck to the dishes/silverware. I ended up just eating with the filthy fork and dish because it didn’t seem to make a difference as everyone’s else’s were dirty also :-(. The chef however Robert saved the day with his great cooking and attitude. This guy really knows how to cook food especially steak. The rest of the staff is semi decent and friendly but after your meal is cooked and the show is over there is barely any eating time. The staff is instantly bringing To-go boxes so they can get the next group in so I got that “rushed” feeling. This is a solid 3 out of 5 for sure and being one of a few places in town that do a “food show” you get what you get.
