Great place and really good food. My wife and I met with our son and his wife for dinner. None of us are familiar with the area and chose this place based on the reviews. My son and his wife eat a lot of Vietnamese food and they know what’s good and what’s not. My wife and I are culinary dulards and have no clue. We went with their recommendations.

They loved it and so did we. If you had told me I would enjoy a broth based soup, I would have disagreed. Was I ever wrong. The soup was delicious and loaded with flavor.

It seemed reasonably clean. Service was pleasant, and the prices were great for what we got.

Will return.

When I lived in Utica I would come here weekly. I tried to order everything on the menu and got about 80% of the menu before moving. Honestly biggest thing I miss from Utica. I enjoyed everything I ordered. Some of my favorites are N12, N20, V40, S43, S52, RD54, VEG63, SP2 and SP5

Truly enjoyed the food. The service was friendly and helpful. The Teriyaki Chicken appetizer is special, highly recommend it. The Drunken Noodles were very good. Not oily at all. The Ga Hoac Bo Xao Gung (S49) was very, very good. I will definitely visit again.

Great stop for authentic Vietnamese dishes. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired but the food makes up for it. Everything we got had an amazingly rich broth. More than worth a visit if you’re passing by.

Pho Mekong is a Vietnamese restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Utica, New York. It’s a small place with limited indoor seating and isn’t spectacular by any means. They are known for their Pho as well as other noodle dishes. They have appetizers, bubble tea, soup and desserts. To sum up our experience, it was good and the service was nice and fast. There are a few things that we didn’t particularly like but the value for what we got was fair. This is a spot I would recommend.

My wife and I shared the spring rolls and I got a bowl of pho with all meats and she got the Drunken Noodles. To start, the spring rolls were okay and were a good size but there was hardly any meat in the filling. Mostly tasted like greens and noodles. The shrimps were small and there were only slivers of beef inside. It came with peanut sauce which was nice but they give a lot and most of it went to waste. On the upside, we got them almost immediately after we ordered them and they were only $4.

My wife’s drunken noodles were my favorite out of everything we’ve tried. Really tasty and had a flavorful sauce that had us wanting more. It had baby bok choy, peppers, onions, chicken and wide, tender rice noodles. The portion was generous and I ended up taking the leftovers home and eating it over rice haha

The pho that I had was good but it wasn’t my favorite. The broth had the beef flavor I was looking for but it was just a bit too sweet for my taste. When it comes to pho, in my opinion, the broth is the star of the show, and since it’s a beef noodle soup, the flavor of beef should be rich throughout and shouldn’t be masked by things such as sugar to try and make it taste better. Spices are fine and salt is fine but sugar is best in dessert mostly. The noodles were cooked well and plenty of meat with it and it comes with bean sprouts, lime wedges, jalapenos and they basil on the side to add to your soup. I appreciate the price point of the bowl as a large was only $9 which is pretty dang good. They also don’t charge extra for the meats which I like as well.

I had a iced Thai tea here and it was delicious and made how it should be. The atmosphere is a little awkward because of the size and they didn’t have any music playing so it was quiet but it was clean and organized.

Overall, this place is good and has good things going for it but when it comes to our search for the best pho is in America, this place just missed the mark. Taste is subjective and everyone likes their Pho a bit differently but it wasn’t our favorite.

Excellent value. The food is delicious, and the prices are incredible for what you get. Their drunken noodles are just the right amount of spicy, and their Mekong fried rice is spectacular, with chicken, egg, beef and sausage. Worth a trip!
