We stopped here for lunch while in town visiting our daughter at Truman. The decor is trendy and the menu is extensive. I had the beef tamale lunch. It was one of the best tamales I’ve had. The Mi Casa hot sauce was spicy (good)! Our server, Dillon, was absolutely adorable. He reminded of my son, if my son was a server and it made me smile so much. I would come back and request Dillon.

Update: had lunch here again today. Both my husband and I agree that after sampling the other Mexican restaurants in Kirksville, this one is hands down the best, freshest ingredients, excellent flavor especially love the salsa, generous portions and very reasonable prices. They are #1 for us!

We love this place! Tonight we had Sarah as a server. She was great, knowledgeable about menu items, personable, great service, even gave us a to go cup for our sweet tea! Food is authentic Mexican, fresh, tasty, really satisfying. Salsa and chips are prepared on site, really makes a difference. Really you can’t go wrong!

Update 4/8/2021: The Enchiladas Verdes continue to be incredible. I love this place, and you cannot beat the price. I was so happy to be back in town, since it gave me the opportunity to go. Great food, great job social distancing customers, great chips and salsa, and great price!

Best. Mexican. Food. In. Kirksville. The best.

Moving here from Colorado or Oklahoma I was consistently disappointed, and even disgusted, by the interpretations of Mexican food the other restaurants in the area had been serving. Trying this one was a blessing. The employees have always been professional and attentive, and the restaurant has a very clean and relaxed atmosphere. This time I ordered curbside to-go and the whole process was so easy. Prep was fresh but quick and food was warm and delicious. Definitely making this a habit. Thank you all!

Great food. Large portions and priced VERY reasonable. Will definitely be back again. The photo is Plato #1 on the menu. It was $13.99. Amazing.

I was blown away by this place. We came during lunch, and it was fairly busy but our waitress did her best to attend to everyone. It is well worth the price. I got the lunch Fajita special which was 7.99 and was pleasantly taken back. I thought I’d get half the amount I did, plus it was good quality and taste. I will definitely be coming back in the future.
Plus they did a great job of cleaning and making everyone feel comfortable and safe. Tables were disinfected in-between people (you could definitely smell the cleaning spray a few tables away). Plus I thought it was clever how the set up the dividers.
Overall I was very impressed and would happily recommend it to others.

First time in Kirksville and stop here for dinner. The first thing i noticed is how clean the restaurant was. Not only clean but smells clean and all employees were following covid guidelines. Food was great and service was wonderful too. Thanks for a great experience.

The nachos were well seasoned and included moist chicken with the right amount of spice. The cheese was nice and melted and the fresh made chips right out of the fryer which makes this dish a high recommendation.

The chimichanga was nice and crispy and had a good kick of spice from the first bite. However the grilled chicken tacos weren’t as well spiced and not enough cheese in my opinion.

The Chimichanga cheese cake was one of the best desserts I’ve had to date. It was a cheese cake wrapped like a chimichanga, deep fried and drizzled with honey, powdered sugar, and a side of whip cream. It was extremely crispy, and despite having honey and powdered sugar, it wasn’t overly sweet. The hot and cold, crispy and soft made this dessert a priceless gem.

Olivia the waitress was fantastic. She was extremely on point and made excellent recommendations. Her cheerful and optimistic disposition made the experience much more enjoyable. Next time I’m in the area I’ll definitely be back.

I come to Kirksville often for work and every time I am in town I eat lunch or when staying overnight dinner. This place never disappoints. Everything on the menu has been top notch. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Also they have some of the best Sopapillas I have had in Northeast Missouri by far. Do yourself a favor and make this your go to place for Mexican whenever in the area.
