My husband and I love this restaurant! The service and food is always 10/10! Amelia was our server tonight and she was fantastic! Highly recommend making a reservation in the loft area for a cute date night experience.

Th only reason I’m not giving them 5 stars is I was seated by a large party that was extremely noisy. The good and service were superb. Our server Mark was very knowledgeable and charismatic. I plan on returning.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this gem in downtown Birmingham, and it absolutely lived up to the buzz. Nestled in a vibrant and safe part of the city, the restaurant is housed in a beautifully restored historic building featuring high ceilings, exposed brick, and an atmosphere that perfectly blends charm and elegance.

Valet parking made the visit even more convenient, and from the moment we walked in, the experience felt special. The restaurant is uniquely split into two distinct spaces: one side offers a relaxed bar setting, while the other provides a more refined white tablecloth dining experience—each with its own thoughtfully crafted menu.

Our party of six tried a variety of dishes, and every single one was outstanding. From appetizers to entrées, everything was prepared with care and full of flavor. The drinks were equally impressive—creative, balanced, and beautifully presented.

This spot is well worth the drive, whether you’re local or coming from out of town. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning soon

I was in town briefly for business and found this restaurant near our hotel. I highly recommend it to those that enjoy really beautiful food, excellent service and a fine wine and beverage menu. Every bite we had was fabulous. They have a lovely menu for wines by the glass and if you are a spirits lover, the extensive list of bourbons is amazing. I live in a city that pretends to have some fine restaurants, but nothing that compares with this. Very reasonably priced, as a plus

Our waitress Amelia was extremely nice and well versed with the menu. She took good care of our party of eleven. The food was ok. It could had been a little more on the plates but overall the atmosphere and service was good.

We had an incredible dinner at Bistro 218. The redfish was perfectly cooked—delicate and full of flavor—and the steak frites were outstanding, cooked to perfection with the crispiest, most delicious fries. The cocktails were equally impressive. The French martini stood out as one of the best we’ve ever had, and when the bar ran out of Bloody Mary mix, they went above and beyond by making one from scratch using fresh tomatoes from the kitchen!

The service was top-notch—friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive. The entire evening felt special, from the warm atmosphere to the thoughtful touches in every detail.
Bistro 218 is easily one of Birmingham’s finest restaurants, and we can’t wait to return.

Parking can be challenging so plan ahead. Call the restaurant about the valley parking options. Online reservation method is not very friendly with a $10 charge for cancellations -perhaps it is the website I was using, please check. The food was outstanding, highly recommend the redfish. Presentation, taste, temperature was right on the mark. The bar is well stocked, Don’t be shy about asking for what you really want. Prices are competitive, when compared to simmer class restaurants. The kitchen team knows what they are doing, well done. Kudos to the management for running an excellent operation.

Delicious food, attentive and cordial service. On the pricey side for the amount you get, so be aware.

Excellent service the entire meal. Delicious food and drink. We enjoyed the brussels, Wellington, duck. and bread service. Dessert was a little disappointing, but we will definitely return.

We had a wonderful dinning experience at this restaurant. It started with great cocktails at the bar. The bartender was so friendly and super knowledgeable.
After we got seated we had a wonderful dinner. As a appetizer we had the octopus, it was cocked in perfection. As a entree we had the beef Wellington. It was perfect and delicious. We also had the vegetarian butternut squash Rösti. It was also really delicious. Great atmosphere as on the bar as in the dining room. It’s a little bit pricey but its worth the price.
We will definitely come back.
