The meal was at a good price point, about $10 for a sandwich and a side of soup. A good amount that will stave your hunger and leave you feeling refreshed, not overly full.
All in all, I won’t seek it out or go out of my way, but if I happen to be close by I might pick something up as a quick meal to go.
When I got to the counter, I explained that I had placed an online order but my phone had died so I wasn’t sure if it went through. The manager (a tall man who appeared to be the GM) walked up and said, “If you ordered a half rack of ribs and a baked potato, you ordered wrong.” I laughed it off not wanting to cause a scene. I hate confrontation.
That comment was extremely uncomfortable and offensive to me. It felt unnecessary and unprofessional.
I had been really excited to try Chicken Salad Chick, but instead I left feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. I’m sharing this so management and the public are aware of how customers are being spoken to. I truly hope they work on making their environment more welcoming and respectful.
