We went in to order some subs to go, as I have Celiac and cannot have gluten or any cross contamination. My partner is allergic to onions and cannot have many things. We are both typically okay after Firehouse Subs as long as we order the same food and let them know our allergies. This was our first time at this location and I am never coming back. The person taking our order did not know how to ring anything up and asked us several times what we wanted, then missed my partners allergy completely on the final order. Unfortunately, I did not notice until we received our to go order with BBQ sauce on it. I brought it back up to the counter and explained and was upset. The item was remade with the person making it informed of the allergy. We both wanted a pickle with our order, but only he received one. In addition, even after explaining the allergy, something was cross contaminated, as he got hives not too soon after consuming the sandwich and mine was also cross contaminated, as I have now been in extreme pain and vomiting for over an hour. This is unacceptable. If someone tells you it is an allergy, it is an allergic, not a preference.

I’ve ordered from firehouse subs two times now, the first time was at a different location here in Springfield, it was phenomenal, so I had ordered again, only this time it was at this location, that was a mistake, I ordered two medium subs, one of them was much smaller then the other, the sub roll itself was skinny like they hadn’t used as much dough as normal, then I had ordered extra pickle spears with each sandwich, and not only did they not give me the extra ones, but they didn’t even give me the original ones, I was given 0 pickle spears. I also had ordered extra bacon on both sandwiches which I paid extra for, but they ended up just having the normal amount, it all was very disappointing, I’ll definitely be steering clear of this location in the future.

I want to start by saying, I really want to like this place! My boyfriend really enjoys a sandwich (his always has a lot of meat and looks good. Not my kind of sandwich though) from here and it’s close to my work. Anyway, we have been here I think 4 times now in the past few weeks. I have tried two different sandwiches. I am ALWAYS shocked by how little meat there is. I kept thinking each time maybe it’s me, surely they weigh the ingredients, this must be a fluke. I have decided today that I don’t really want to go back or maybe I need to order the cold deli options moving forward. I’m not sure yet. I have had the Turkey Thanksgiving option twice and it’s basically a sandwich with stuffing and cranberry jelly, I then tried the brisket sandwich and it was pretty much mayo & cheese. I looked at the pictures once, twice, three times and it is just not what is advertised at all. I snapped a picture this last time and asked my boyfriend repeatedly if it’s me! He assured me my sandwiches are definitely lacking and I know it’s not just me unfortunately. Maybe I’ll try again next year.

This was my 1st time ever to firehouse subs but I had high expectations because of the reputation that I have heard about. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich with chips and a drink. I was not disappointed. The sandwich had just the right amount of seasoning and toppings and was delicious. So much better than Jimmy John’s! The sweet tea was awesome! The store was clean and well lit. The service was fast and friendly. I will be back!

Ok here goes…. For starters, the service was excellent, Jaden was polite, professional and was assisted perfectly by the fast moving and focused sandwich maker Marianna! Even the store manager made a brief appearance. The food was great for a non-philly type sub The bun was softly toasted and the toppings were super fresh! Overall a great experience and the fam can’t wait to try other items on the menu. Oh yeah, the theme, cleanliness and location were all on point!

The sub was loaded with meat one of the best subs I’ve had. I was just a little put back as to my bread being soggy. So I will not order in advance I’ll go in and order.

I just wanted to compliment the crew that was working Monday evening (10/7). They were clearly incredibly busy, especially with online orders but they could not have had better service. They apologized several times for the wait (which was no more than 5 minutes) and were so helpful when the time did come for us to place an order. My first time here and I will be coming back!

Normally this location is great and the 2 guys working in the front were doing the best they could but I must comment on the amount of time it took to get my food today.
Initially there were 3 guys, but 1 disappeared.
I placed an online order for 6:50. I didn’t receive my food until 7:10. Why??? Apparently there was a meatball issue. Maybe he was doing meatball prep in the back.???
I get it, I’ve worked in food before…but that means I also understand food prep.
The guy on the sandwich table was very apologetic and I appreciate that, but it does not make up for everything else that suffered afterwards.
I expected better.
The picture below is one example of how terrible this visit was.

Food is usually fresh and consistent but tonight the sandwich was missing ingredients and Forget getting iced tea after 7 or after it expires because they aren’t making another batch. The chairs are put on top of all but 4 tables early(after 7). It Just feels so unwelcoming. They close at 9 btw.
Employees are pleasant and it’s a clean environment.
