It was decent BBQ. It just didn’t “wow” us. Food came out warm, at best. Our server was great. She had three or four tables in a moderately busy restaurant, and still kept drinks fresh. They share a parking lot with other businesses, so get there early if you go on a weekend. We went on a Monday, just after lunch rush. Easy to find, right at an intersection, and level ground as you go from parking lot to building.

My husband and i started going to pokey joes a year ago after my nieces wedding. We have been there atleast once every 2 weeks if not more. We had them cater our wedding and they received a standing ovation for their wonderful down home country feeling food and service. When im here i feel like im at home. I’ve tried most everything on the menu now. They will give you the experience you are looking for! Go try for yourself!

First time here and definitely will be back! A lot of choices looked good on the menu, but I ultimately decided on the chicken quesadilla, and it did not disappoint! Also got the Deb’s hard lemonade and it was sooo good and refreshing!

Update: returned for dinner and it was fantastic again. Allison was on top of it; she knocked it out of the park with service. The food was excellent as well. Yeah, we’ll be back.

Tried this place for the first time with my mom today, and we loved it! We both got the lunch sized burgers with fries and a side of ranch and everything was super yummy Their ranch is definitely one of my new favorites, and I learned from our waitress that it’s house made so I’ll definitely be going back.
Our burgers were also very, very good, I’ll definitely need to bring my husband in soon. We went in around lunchtime, and it got pretty busy almost immediately, but everything seemed like it was going smoothly.
Not to mention our price for 2 burger meals was only $26!!! That’s cheaper than 2 meals at waffle house anymore.

We went today for a Valentine’s Day brunch. We were a little late, and lunch had already started. Oh, well. That’s what we get for sleeping in. Corey chased us across the parking lot and brought us back inside for a delicious order of huevos rancheros with brisket. I’m especially grateful that my wife wasn’t hangry at me all day! We will definitely be back for brunch, on time next time. Thank you all so much!

You will not be disappointed going to Pok-E-Joe’s BBQ. The food was delicious. If you’re looking for good food that is also affordable this is the place to go. I really enjoyed Corey’s sampler it was delightful. They have different BBQ sauce selections. The brisket was tender and the ribs falling off the bone. The sides were also very delicious, you would have to try it yourself to believe it. They serve many different desserts. The S’mores cake was also delicious but if you like banana pudding then you must try. All the ingredients are made from scratch and fresh daily. The Service was great, as soon as my drink was empty the server was ready with the next one. She was attentive and welcoming. I highly recommend you to try this place. Thank you for the great food and service.

Visited for dinner last night, Saturday at 6:30ish. The wait was about half an hour. The service was good, tho it took a while for our food to come out- no worries there tho, during peak dinner time. The brisket was melt in your mouth tender, and the bones pulled right out of the ribs. It was everything I wanted in a BBQ dinner. The green beans were also very good, and the collards were ok. I would definitely go back again.

I got the sliced brisket (1/4 lb, and they serve 1/2 lb) and 6 wings (drums and flats, you choice of sides with the meats, everything à la carte) Everything delicious and service was fast and friendly. I’m not from these parts (NC) but I like the vibe and the experience. So if you are in Roanoke or the surrounding area, it would be worth it.
