Sister and went for the 1st time ! WHY?? did we wait so long to try this Aaaa-Mazing food! we got a little bit of everything just to try it and happy we did Gladys and her team were amazing with walking us through the menu! Even Was willing to cook the fish without the peanut oil to accommodate my allergies! Will definitely be coming back, using this place for catering and bragging about the amazing food and service to all my friends!!

Came here very excited to try a DDD location – the flavor of things was good, but nothing amazing. The fried chicken wasn’t crispy at all and seemed like it had just been re-warmed. With that, they were somehow out of fried chicken by 12:30 on a Wednesday afternoon and the place was empty, so not sure how/why that could happen. It took our group over 30 minutes for everyone to get their food and it wasn’t hot when it did come out so again not sure why. Servers were friendly and space/area is nice.

Staff is super friendly & helpful. Kids had the chicken & fries, my sister In-Law had the chicken sandwich & I hade the 10pc wings. Everything taste great. My only complaint is the wings are so small. Wish the wings were either bigger or you got more. I have had the original seasoning & the spicy on the wings both times I have gone & both seasonings are so good.

When you enter the space at Big Mama’s, the vibe is both comforting and nostalgic, it’s ready for the future while bringing along the goodness of the past. The food here is similar, bridging the old and new in flavorful new ways. I absolutely enjoyed the Southwestern Egg Rolls, they were piping hot, crispy and nicely spiced. I also really loved the the Red Beans and Rice which were flavorful and clearly made with love. Big Mama’s honors the legacy of those before while giving so much to look forward to through innovative takes on comfort classics

Best catfish in Omaha. The house made hot sauce is some of the best I’ve ever had. The Mac and cheese is really good and the fried okra is great on its own or dipped in the hot sauce. The cornbread was super good as well. The service was spot on and the staff is friendly. Good atmosphere, very open space and lots of seating at the bar.

We had heard good things about Big Mama’s, and we were looking forward to an authentic soul food experience. It was a little tough to find due to the street-facing signage being a little tough to spot, but our GPS got us there.
We were surprised about how new the building was, and while it was nice, it didn’t seem very “down home”. The polished concrete floors and metal surfaces made the dining area loud, as was the music. The food was okay, but it was pricey and there was nothing really special about it.
Maybe we caught them on an off night?

I think that somewhere in here could be some excellent food. Was excited to try it out after seeing it on several food network shows. The chicken was cold, the corn bread was cold, the red beans and rice were flavorless. If someone who actually cared to take on this institution and make the standards top notch it could be amazing.

A little hard to find, but the food was great! Got the fish fillet and piece of chicken (1 and 1). Their famous oven fried chicken has a unique, really good flavor. The fish is fried to order. Crispy on the outside, but the fillet melts in your mouth! Greens and Mac-n-Cheese were both real goog. Try the sweet potato cheese cake. GPS took me to the parking lot of a complex where her restaurant is upstairs, but no sign that I could see. I had to ask around to find her, but it’s worth the search.

Today I had the best experience at Big mama’s. Not only was it the experience of just walking into the establishment amazing, but the customer service from the lady that took my order made me feel right at home. I feel so bad I didn’t get her name because everyone that walked in she knew theirs. She went above and beyond knowing that I had a peanut allergy, she made a special pan fried of catfish for me. That alone made me feel very special. If you’re looking for a great home cooked southern meal this is the place to be thank you again for the warm welcoming. Will be back with my family.

Was confusing looking for the place… the sign was very small and not well advertised on the outside of the building. The business is on the second floor.
Came in midweek during lunchtime. We may have missed lunchtime rush hour because it was pretty dead and quiet.
We were greeted and feel welcoming. Order up our meals and sat down.
The fries were decently seasoned, and the fried chicken taste great and didn’t dry up.
Disappointed on the cornbread… came out cold and didn’t give that cornbread grit feel or bite.
The mashed potato was ok… there weren’t much flavoring with the gravy.
