Over the past five years we have been to Oaxaquena Triqui for take out. It has been a while since our last visit and Oaxaquena Triqui moved, but just down the street. It was more of a Mexican grocery store with a couple of tables but mostly takeout. Now it has lots of tables but there is still takeout food. The food hasn’t changed. It’s as unique and delicious as ever.

We ordered online but then called them to add something to our order on our hour-long drive and never got an answer. I don’t know if they just don’t answer or what the issue was. It’s great that they have online but they need to answer their phone.

2021 review; Second time getting take out from Oaxaquena. The food is authentic and delicious. The prices are reasonable. The regular salsa is hot and the hot salsa is fiery but flavorful. Make sure you get a few Sopes.

I don’t care about the atmosphere. The food is on point here truly authentic Mexican here I have not had a place this good since Garcias was open in the 90’s. Everything was fresh and packed full of flavor. If this was a out of 10 resting system it would get a 9.5 out of ten so 5 out of 5 is what I rate them. No pics this time I was on a demonstration line when we got it. Well Done oaxaquena well done.

I would describe the place as a cute, semi hole in the wall. Very unassuming from the street, but much bigger inside than originally thought it would be. The place is very clean and cheery. Our waitress was great, very helpful, and ur food came out quickly. Speaking of the food, everything was delicious! Loved it all! We ordered one of each of three tacos. Lengua, Cecina, and Chapulines. They were all really good. liked the chapulines a lot, but my husband wasn’t a huge fan because he doesn’t love the smoky chipotle flavor. He preferred the lengua. And we both enjoyed the cecina. We also ordered one huitlacoche huarache, one carnitas sope, and one tinga tostada. Everything was delicious. They also brought two different sauces for us. The red sauce they gave us was a bit spicy and the green sauce was mild, both were very tasty. We would absolutely recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Mexican!

Had previously ordered food from here that was tasty, but this evening, though the food arrived quickly, it was not warm at all, and something in my food tasted spoiled. Maybe it was freezer burn, but not a good taste. I had ordered the pechuga mexicana, and had put the restaurant’s salsa on it. Not sure which element was bad.

This is a hidden little restaurant in albany. You go past the convenience store section and the restaurant is in the back. The service was good as there are not many tables, you get lots of attention, and they have an extensive menu. They have many different types of tacos, enchiladas, tortas, and many other Mexican specialties. They have a wide selection of Mexican sodas and horchata. Three tacos come in an order and two orders are more than enough for one person.

This is the chipotle chicken dinner ordered through take out.
Appetizing? No. The opposite.
A meager amount of rice and beans under a whole bunch of cream sauce and a few pieces of thin chicken. But just enough to congeal everything into a questionably edible goop.
What kind of restaurant serves their dishes like this? Not even looking for a refund…
Worthless.

BEST Mexican food in Albany. FRESH. TASTY. Good prices. Not the best location, but well worth the trip. Friendly folks running the place. Clean. Street parking, but each time we’ve come, able to park right in front of the place. Lunch or dinner this place is AWESOME.

Authentic Mexican restaurant, clean place and delicious food. It was a little bit cold when we dined in, I hope they will fix the heat system. Other than that everything was great.

I’ve been here a couple of times and the food is amazing and authentic. The staff are really friendly and service is quick. I highly recommend checking it out! It is one of my favorite restaurants in the Capital District and definitely the best Mexican restaurant in the area.

My wife is from Oaxaca (Mixtepec) so we had to visit while we were in town from California. This place did not disappoint! The food was very good and very authentic.
My wife had the Tlayuda Oaxaqueña which she loved.
I had a Huarache with half flor de calabazas (squash flower) and half huitlacoche (corn smut/yeast), it was so delicious, I ate it so fast.
The salsa was very good too!
The kids shared a quesadilla which is made with queso oaxaca.
