Wow! This was the perfect spot for a celebratory dinner and it was hopping on a Thursday night. Our waitress Martini was super friendly and helpful. The wine selection is impressive. We started with cheesy garlic bread with marinara sauce followed by the house salad for me and creamy basil tomato soup for my husband with a fresh baguette for us to share. I had the shrimp scampi and he had chicken parmesan. It was all delicious. The decor is warm and inviting. There’s seating in the bar area, in the dining room and on a covered deck. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

I had an excellent experience at Bella Vino. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a comfortable yet refined vibe perfect for a night out. The service was attentive and friendly, and the staff clearly takes pride in making guests feel welcome. The menu offered a great selection of Italian-inspired dishes made with high-quality ingredients, and every plate was flavorful and beautifully presented. The wine pairings were thoughtful and elevated the meal. Overall, Bella Vino delivered a memorable dinner with great food, great service, and a wonderful dining experience. I will gladly return and recommend it to friends and family.

Best Italian food! First time visiting Ridgway and this place did not disappoint at all! Fabulous service and everything we got was amazing- so much flavor and cooked to perfection. We had the salmon dinner, kids filet steak, kids fettuccini Alfredo and Rosa tortellini. Even their peppered butter was great. We will definitely be back.

Solid Italian food – it was pasta night – and everything was better than other Italian choices in Montrose, or Deveto’s (Delta). Great service and bar inside if dining solo. Nice wine choices. Will come back.

By far the BEST restaurant we have ever been to!! The service is outstanding and you are greeted and seated by a true gentleman! The Caesar salad and beef Wellington are the best you will ever find, and everything else we had was top notch as well! Chris recommended an amazing wine, and if we could give Bella Vino 10 stars we would! True authentic Italian, family run restaurant. Bella Vino has a special place in our hearts as we dined on our honeymoon! Thank you Bella Vino!

Update August 2025: still great. Family owned and operated. Great wine list. Duck and salmon were super.

Update July 2022: still amazing. The beef wellington is my go to, but the wife goes for the fish specials. The deconstructed scallop pot pot pie was tasty and the crawfish escargot was excellent. The carrot ginger soup was fantastic. Great wines that aren’t too overpriced. Rumor is that they have lost their lease at year’s end. I hope Chris and team can find another location in Ouray – it’s our favorite restaurant in Ouray by far.

Update July 2021: still excellent. Got the beef wellington again. Great bottle of wine off the menu — talk to the BIG guy for suggestions. Excellent service from the Class of 2021 and 2022.

July 2020: A really nice meal. Good food, good service, good wine list. The beef wellington was fantastic. Make a reservation.

Make no mistake, the food here is excellent. The rib-eye steak in pepper sauce is possibly the best I’ve ever eaten, and the fact that the main dishes include an entrée makes the meal more affordable. Not only that but also the entrée that I had (acorn squash and shrimp bisque) was one of the best soups that I’ve come across! Great cheffing! The drinks are also good – nice wines, G&Ts and Espresso Martinis. Staff are nice and helpful. The only small thing is that I found the restaurant a little dark, but the food more than makes up for that. What a gem in Ridgway!

Food was meh. My boyfriend’s was pretty good, he said. But not great, and not what he was expecting based on the menu description.

Look, I get it. I’m a vegan trying to eat at a nicer Italian restaurant so my boyfriend can enjoy a date night dinner, and I HATE asking for accommodation based on this, so I checked the menu before I came. They have vegetarian items on menu; spaghetti with marinara with no cheese is automatically accidentally vegan; it’s definitely regular dry wheat spaghetti.

Unfortunately, as is the case with most places in Colorado, they majorly overcooked the noodles. They were extremely well done, but not quite mushy. The marinara was OK… had chunks of green bell pepper which I’m personally just not a fan of in pasta sauce. It’s a very western thing.

I’m sure if I ordered something more robust if I wasn’t vegan, it would have been better.
Service was still outstanding and very accommodating.
Super cute atmosphere.
Pretty good wine list.
We probably won’t go back, but if you don’t have food restrictions, give it a try.

Our party of four made reservations well in advance (7-10 days prior) and requested a table in the backroom dining area. Upon arrival we were greeted and informed that we didn’t have reservations. Nothing they could or would do to accommodate us. A short while later, after we were seated, we were told that we did indeed have reservations but was for only two but it was too late for them to help us. Then, we had to ask about being served our dinner after a long wait. Once served we sent one dinner back. Inedible! The other three were just okay. In summary, it was supposed to be a night of celebration and was virtually ruined by the Bella Vino staff. We left feeling ripped off and will not return.
