This location peaked my interest several times. I tried it for the first time and thought it was worth the visit. The price per Kolache is fair, and they are pretty filling. I ordered only breakfast items, but the Ham, egg, jalapeno, cheese was the best tasting one overall! Location is convenient for me, so I just might become a regular.

I had driven by this place from time to time but had not found the right time to stop previously. I’ve also driven past numerous other kolache places over the years but somehow didn’t manage to stop in any of them either. Apparently, my life has been incomplete without me ever realizing.

First question…what is a kolache? It turns out that you can bake a small (think dinner roll size) bread with filling inside of it. These guys have a bunch of different choices for the filling but the answer is the same…it’s a little roll with good stuff inside.

Second question…what are the choices? It really depends on when you arrive. They make what they make and when they’re gone, they’re gone. As I was standing in line I asked the people sitting at the table whose space I was inadvertently invading which were the best ones. A guy at the table didn’t miss a beat: “the ones they’re already out of” was his response. You have a couple of options: go early or reserve in advance. Yep, you can apparently place an internet order early in the morning to ensure they have what you want waiting for you when you arrive for lunch. Odd.

Third question…what did I eat and what did I think? I had three of their little balls of goodness:

1. Pimento cheeseburger. I’m glad I started with this one as it was impressive enough but paled in comparison to the other two. I always like to finish on a high note so it’s great that this was the starting point for my meal instead of the ending.

2. Buffalo chicken. A bit of spice, very tender and moist filling without being a messy way to enjoy Buffalo chicken (side note: I don’t really have a frame of reference for eating Buffalo chicken without it being messy so that was unique as well). They do a fine enough grind and a good enough mixing of ingredients that every bite is essentially the same mix of flavors and textures. Genius!

3. Chorizo egg & cheese. The Buffalo chicken was my favorite until the first bite of this one. What an incredible density and depth of flavor in every single bite!

Sadly, I arrived a little after noon and something like half of their varieties were already sold out for the day. It just leaves me wondering what joy the “better” half of their offerings would bring into my life if I figure out how to get there earlier or order in advance…

It’s kind of like a donut shop, the various kolaches are on a shelf behind the counter, ready to be served, so it’s very fast. The woman working there was very friendly and quickly filled my order, with an option to heat them up. The bread had good texture but was a bit sweet, and I don’t care for that and it’s the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars. The Ham Egg Cheese & Jalapeno was really good, could taste the jalapeno. The chorizo egg & cheese, I wish had more chorizo because I still haven’t decided if I like chorizo yet :).

Always a good breakfast item, kolaches are St.Louis local item. If you haven’t tried them. I would recommend you try it.
The BBQ and Buffalo Chicken was really good. Would also recommend the jalapeno one.The lady at the front was also really cool.

Loved the pulled pork and the brownie. Really liked the raspberry cream cheese though it could have used more filling. Unfortunately, by the time we were able to eat these, they had cooked and we were unable to heat them back up. I think they would have been better. This was my first time having a Kolache though and it was a fun experience.

Great place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. You can dine in, but take-out might be optimal. Service is pleasant. Was not too busy when we visited. The kolaches were great! Ordered HEJ (not too spicy), Philly cheesesteak, and spinach/artichoke.

The residents of Dolan Memory Care Homes love kolaches. The variety is impressive and everyone – regardless of whether they have a sweet tooth or prefer savory food- finds something tasty. We usually get them to go.
Advice: Look at the menu before you go because there are a ton or choices for breakfast and lunch.

We got the jalapeno? Popper and spinach artichoke kolach, and went back for a second serving! It was too yummy and very filling. We would love to see more vegetarian options but we’re very very happy to have found this place!

The salmon and cream cheese version was deelish and my coworker said her spinach and artichoke was amazing.
But the sweet one’s were just fat, doughy balls of baked bread with jelly or whatever.
If you love dough/bread, this could be your place.
6 balls were about $13.00
