Mr. Kofta Mediterranean Diner in Asheboro is absolutely worth the wait! After following them from their food truck days and finally getting in after the recent winter storm closures, we can confidently say it was fantastic. The food is truly scrumptious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care—and the portions are very generous for the fair prices (we happily took half of ours home for the next day). The staff were incredibly kind and genuinely grateful, which made the experience even better. And don’t skip the complimentary hot tea—it was some of the best we’ve ever had. Please give them some love; you will NOT regret it!

Tried Mr. Kofta Mediterranean Food and it was excellent. I got the chapli kabob over rice and everything was absolutely delicious—full of flavor and cooked perfectly.
To-go service was easy and smooth, and while waiting they even offered a free cup of tea, which was such a nice touch. Great food, great service, and a great experience overall. Will definitely be back.

Both my friend and I are very big fans of Mediterranean/halal food, so we were excited to see one nearby that had such good ratings, a very good menu, and very reasonable prices. We could not have been happier! I got the lamb over rice with pita and my friend got the chicken kebab over rice, both with white sauce, and then green and yogurt sauce on the side. One plate was enough for 1-2 portions depending on how hungry you are, and the prices were so reasonable, especially given the quality.
It was so delicious, I wish I lived closer and could visit all the time. Making a decision on what to order was so difficult, everything looked and smelled so wonderful, but we were both very happy. The lamb was cut into smaller pieces, very flavorful and tender. The chicken kebab had these big tender and juicy pieces of chicken. The rice was very well cooked and flavored, and the sauce complimented them perfectly. It did take about 15-20 minutes, but that was no problem, it was a nice place to wait and the food was so fresh. They also offered us complimentary hot tea while we waited and it was so delicious, I would drink it all day if I could. The staff was very kind and especially patient when we took a few minutes to decide what to get.
The only thing to consider is that inside there are only 3 2-person tables, which was not a problem at all, but just means there may not be a place to eat in the restaurant if you wanted. It seemed most people were ordering for take out though!

My first experience eating here today. The Lamb Platter was amazingly good. The portion was large enough to double for my dinner later in the day. “Will eat here again” is an understatement. Will eat here weekly! Limited dining-in seating, but I will be ordering for takeout. I told the owners I can’t wait until they are able to expand their dining area. With that in mind, let’s support this great local business in Asheboro!

Amazing food! Everything is so flavorful and fresh! They gave us a complimentary tea while we waited for our order and the lady was great in explaining the menu. Lamb and chicken were so juicy and everything just melts in your mouth. A wonderful addition to Asheboro, we will be coming back to try the rest of the menu!

I discovered this place on accident but I just so happened to walk in on their first soft launch opening day, the people here were very nice and helpful. The food was delicious and worth what you spend I can’t wait to go again. Heads up there is no bathrooms here

The food at Mr. Kofta restaurant is delicious! I had the falafel gyro, which was so yummy. The staff are super friendly. They gave us complimentary tea when we ordered, which was addictive. Yum! And on my birthday they gave me a large serving of baklava. Love this place!

I would if this not the best food in town to others it the best to Me!!! Everything was de-liicious!!!!! Please come and try the food here at Mr. Kota he is located on Fayetteville St next to the Vape store with the waving balloon. OMG! U MUST TRY IT AND THE FOOD IS VERY AFFORDABLE THAT 2 PEOPLE CAN EAT OFF ONE PLATE LITERALLY. THE STAFF AND OWNERS ARE VERY RESPECTFUL AND WONDERFUL. P:S PLEASE TRY THE HOT TEA!!

I’ve been getting food from Mr. Kofta since they had the food truck at least two or more years ago. I’m so glad they finally got a location. The food is always delicious and always consistent, the atmosphere is nice and they are always very friendly. They have something for everyone and it’s very easy to find vegetarian options here. Asheboro is very lucky to have this gem of a restaurant. See you again soon!
