Reviews
I ordered steamed chicken momos, which were decent but not among the best I’ve had in the area. They were fairly basic without anything particularly memorable.
I also tried the chicken thukpa — a Nepali/Tibetan noodle soup for those unfamiliar with it, typically made with broth, noodles, vegetables, and protein. Unfortunately, this version felt quite bland, and the broth lacked depth and flavor. Having had much better thukpa in Kolkata, India, this one felt very average in comparison.
Portion sizes were generous and easily enough for more than one serving, but overall the meal felt very basic and nothing really stood out.
Ordered delivery again after a few months – please support this awesome food truck! Best Nepalese food ever. If you say that you want extra momo sauce or spice in the food they’ll actually take care of it.
They are always quick and are conveniently located at the el Camino junction. One of my favorite spots in the Bay Area! Prices aren’t high as well for the quantity they give!
Paneer fried rice – 10/10
Veg Manchurian Chowmein – 10/10.
***USP: Nepali style food truck serving momos, fried rice, noodles, Manchurian etc. Prices can be considered low compared to numerous other similar trucks.
***FOOD: we got fried rice and chow mein. Quantity was very generous. Both the dishes came with a nice variety of finely diced veggies. The sauces that came on the side were really good. They had a nice little kick as well. The reason for rating them a bit low is because there was a strong salty aftertaste in both the fried rice and chow mein. And it was difficult to eat much of them.
Expect a bit of a wait though. Took like 15ish minutes for me to receive my order, which is a bit longer than I would expect for a food truck. Got the chili chicken fried rice and it was alright. Lots of aroma and nice charred bits throughout the rice. Lacking on flavour, but they go all in on the oil.
I probably won’t be visiting again, but this spot fills a unique niche and there’s no other restaurant serving Nepalese food for this cheap close by.
Good:
– Loved the chilli chicken momos – some of the best I’ve had! 10/10
– The veggie manchurian rolls were amazing! 10/10 would get again – great texture and the flavor was surprising
– The chicken lollipops were good but a bit dry 5/10
– I also liked the paneer fried rice but it lacked some basic flavor 4/10
Bad:
– Takes a while for food to be ready
– Simple tables for seating – nothing fancy and no frills
– Staff who took the order seemed to be a bit less patient with me
Overall was really good of an experience and would come back! Unique fusion food and good food truck quality.
We ordered
veg Manchurian fried rice – quality and quantity of food was pretty good. Spice level was perfect and we enjoyed this dish. Can’t say it was authentic dish because there was something missing in taste but still it was good compared to other places I have tried.
veg Manchurian – I saw others reviews about this dish and decided to asked them to make it less oily and they did make it perfect dish. Compared to other places I didn’t enjoyed this dish very much but it’s ok.
Taste wise I would give 3/5 stars because Manchurian balls were little uncooked or maybe I didn’t enjoyed them because they were little sticky and chewy.
Quantity wise it was ok. Dish had about 6 to 7 Manchurian balls.
Maybe next time I will visit to try other veg options they have.
Fried Chicken Momo 4 crispy, juicy, flavorful, oily
Chicken Lollipop 3 deep fried, not flavorful
Chicken Chowmein 2 chicken too dry, too plain
Mango Lassi 4 too watery
Price is reasonable.
There is limited seating, best way is you go by car and eat inside the car.
We tried veggie momos, noodles, and chicken roll.
I loved the noodles with manchurian and the chicken roll. Good quantity and taste.
Momos were okay, I have had better. I guess I was looking for the Delhi momo taste but since this is a Nepalese food truck, can’t complain much!
