We found Rim Tang while looking for authentic Thai street food in Georgetown, and it turned out to be such a hidden gem!

It’s a very small and cozy place — only about 4–5 tables with seating for around 10–12 people — but that actually adds to the charm. It truly feels like a little Thai street food spot right in the heart of Georgetown.

We ordered the chicken krapow, panang curry, and chicken satay. Everything was delicious. The krapow was perfectly seasoned and very authentic. The panang curry was rich, flavorful, and had a wonderful peanut taste. The chicken satay was excellent, and the peanut sauce was absolutely amazing — easily one of the best parts of the meal.

The server was also great — friendly, attentive, and welcoming.

The only downside is parking. Since it’s in Georgetown, there’s no dedicated parking, so you’ll need to find street parking or a nearby garage. But the location is fantastic and worth the effort.

Overall, we really enjoyed the food and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic Thai flavors! ️

Just got back from a trip to Thailand a week earlier and was craving some good Thai food. My Thai friend suggested I check out Rimtang while in DC. It definitely hit the spot.

The place is fairly popular so I would highly recommend making a reservation. There is a paid parking lot out front but I walked there from my hotel.

Service and food here was great. The portions were good size and had the flavors I was looking for. Nothing was too spicy but I love Thai hot. Hotter the better.

I ordered the Panang curry, crab dumpling, spring rolls and, of course, mango sticky rice. It was all delicious. I was stuffed after eating all that.

If you are looking for a great authentic Thai place make sure to check Rimtang DC

The liver is not weak. All three dishes were strong.
My boyfriend and I kept drinking water while eating.

But all three dishes were delicious! It was a very attractive dish.

The staff was kind and I will go there again when I visit Georgetown.

+ There is a paid parking lot right next to it.

Georgetown Cupcake and Diptyque store are across the street.

This tiny Georgetown Thai spot is huge on flavor. While they have the regular pad Thai and stuff, this specializes in Northern Thai food. Absolutely amazing. You might need a helmet because you’ll have a flavor bomb in your mouth.

Rimtang is such a beautiful little gem tucked away in Georgetown. It’s a family-owned, women-run spot and you can really feel the care they’ve put into the place. The space is small but super cozy and well-kept, with a calm and welcoming vibe.

I tried their Thai tea and it was perfectly creamy, just the right amount of sweetness thanks to the condensed milk. I also had the sparkling hibiscus drink sweetened with dates.. really refreshing and different in the best way. For food, I got the chicken satay as an appetizer and it was so flavorful and tender, served with delicious vegetables pickle.

It’s a place I’d definitely recommend to anyone visiting DC. Great drinks, great food, and such a lovely team running the place. Would love to go back and try more from the menu.

One of the best Thai restaurants in the area with similar price points for its quality and value.

Got seated upstairs during golden hour and the vibe was perfect with all the light coming in. We sat near the restrooms (super clean) which was fine, but the AC did drip a bit on my arm. Probably something they should fix before it hits a table.

Food was really solid and felt authentic. Drinks were fun, the Thai iced tea comes in a pouch (cute but super sweet, very condensed milk-y) and we grabbed a Singha too. Spice was definitely stronger than “mild,” so heads up if you can’t handle heat.

The only downside was the pacing. Our papaya salad didn’t come out first and the wait between dishes felt longer than expected. Might be because the kitchen’s downstairs. When it did come, the papaya salad was fresh and classic. Loved the laab esaan with pork (get it with sticky rice). The fried shrimp with spicy garlic was also good – big, juicy shrimp, though I wish they had more flavor inside. The garlic on top made up for it.

For dessert we tried both the mango sago and the mango sticky rice because we were curious. Honestly the only big difference was texture (sago vs rice) and the sago leaned a bit saltier. If you’re feeling adventurous, go for the sago; if you want tried and true, the sticky rice is the way to go. Either way, the mangoes themselves were fantastic.

We had a great dinner experience here. The whole space feels vibrant and lively. Chat took care of our table and her personality and great service was amazing. Food was fantastic, especially the dry fish curry. We will definitely be back soon.

Delicious!! We found this when looking for top-rated restaurants, and we were so happy to get a last-minute reservation. It’s a cute two-story restaurant with character. We got the Spicy Calamari (perfect crisp, great flavor, and the spicy sauce was yum), the pork laab esaan (OMG SO GOOD), the papaya salad (full of papaya and delicious spicy seasoning), and the Ka-Praw with chicken (very good, nutty flavor). Our server was attentive and fun. We sat upstairs. Will definitely go back next time we’re in Georgetown. Highly recommend!! Make reservations in advance.
