Whammyburger!! I was one minute late for breakfast and they told me I couldn’t have any and the manager Rick told me I had to order something from the lunch menu. Sheila wasn’t much help either even though she was cute. I almost went apeshit and pulled an oozy, but the pastrami chili cheese burrito actually sounded pretty good so I went with that. It was outstanding and very filling, they don’t skimp you on the portions.
Highly recommend.

I’m so happy that my dreams of coming to Angelo’s Burgers and Tacos in the city of Lynwood has come true! As a movie buff, I know this is the famous Whammy Burger scene from the movie Falling Down with Michael Douglas as William Foster where he tries to order breakfast, but he didn’t realize they now changed it into a lunch menu. I just love the best filming location ever since Falling Down came out in theaters on February 26th, 1993.
It’s nice that Angelo’s is a very good fast food restaurant where they served breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, tacos, Mexican meals, and teriyaki. Of course, I got the cheeseburger, my mom got the grilled cheese sandwich, and my dad got the fish sandwich. We will remember this American restaurant forever and I love every moment of it!

I got a regular cheeseburger special combo and I really enjoyed it! I went through drive through and it was pretty quick. They were very friendly at the window, no complaints.
The burger was very moist and perfect. The fries were good with just the right amount of seasoning and so was the thousand island. Price was 40 for two meals with drinks but that expected anywhere now. I would definitely come here again.

I’ve been coming here for years with different owners several times. But recently the new management has improved the atmosphere and the menu. Food is fresh every time and service is good. Be ready to wait a bit if it gets busy. Which usually it’s not. The burgers and grilled chicken sando are my favorite, always fresh and well seasoned!! Side ranch or thousand island is $1

So here’s the thing, I’ve been a fan of Angelo’s all my life. And all my life for the most part the food has tasted delicious. My parents like it. My brother was a huge fan (and he was a stricter critic than me) and I love it.
Famous for “Falling Down” with Michael Douglas being filmed at the place, I still remember when they painted that big ole burger in the parking lot for the movie.
To the food. My favorite and possibly best tasting chili cheese fries are from Angelo’s. hands down. No matter what anyone else tells me. And I’ve had chili fries at a lot of places. The chili is spicyish, unique tasting and the cheese – there is something about it that just makes them delicious. Sometimes I get extra cheese and oh my! I love it!!!!! Get them to go for the full taste, remember if you get them to dine-in the cheese will not be fully melted.
I also get the shrimp dinner or shrimp basket. Chili burger. My parents like the steak sandwich. I mean you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Even simply the fries are just tasty and delicious. I love the burgers too.
I’ve never met the owners personally, but I give them credit for surviving this pandemic. It hasn’t been easy and I am glad Angelo’s is a survivor. It’s my spot and will forever be.
Pay them a visit and order the chili fries too. Trust me. You’ll love them.
2024 Update: visited recently. It seems it is in transition to new ownership. The food is still the same and delicious. I ordered a burger, got it fresh and it was delicious. I ordered chili cheese fries and they are still delicious. If you love Angelo’s, you are going to keep moving them. Everything I’ve ordered since is fresh and tasty.

If you’ve been a longtime Angelo’s customer, I’ll just say this, it’s not the same as it used to be. The thousand island, once authentic, creamy, and unique, has lost its original flavor. Honestly, the thousand island is kind of nasty now. The fries and burgers don’t carry that same spark anymore and taste more like any typical burger spot. Even the bun feels different, not as soft or moist as before, but a little on the dry side. The fries used to be squishy and comforting, but now they’re crunchier. Maybe I just got a bad batch, but it’s not what I remember. That special touch that made Angelo’s feel different just isn’t there anymore. I’m not saying it’s gross, it’s still good, but honestly, it just feels kind of meh. The interiors are nice though, and the new remodel with the patio is an amazing touch. I’m so sad because this place used to feel special. Overall, I’d give it a 7 out of 10.

We had lunch at Angelo’s and it did not disappoint. As fans of the movie Falling Down, it was so cool to see the Whammy Burger location! Moving on from that, the owner was really nice and friendly and we joked around and talked a bit and the HUGE menu had so many options and we felt the food was made with love and care. The staff were really friendly. We truly had a great experience at Angelo’s and we hope to return.
