The boathouse is sort of the place everyone in the area goes to on a regular basis. It’s a standard bar/res restaurant with plenty of TVs that people are always watching whatever sports games are on. If you’re into that sort of thing, this is the typical place for you to enjoy all of that. It’s not really my scene but I have had decent food here and the prices are okay. It’s just the atmosphere isn’t my sort of thing.

Very nice experience and dinner. Chicken wings were excellent and onion rings were nice and crispy. Staff was kind and attentive and frequently checking on us. A little expensive but worth the food and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Place is great! It was super quiet during the day. Nice place to catch up with an old friend. Bartender was attentive and personable. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks and food that this establishment offers. Will definitely visit again!!

Wow the new iteration of the Boathouse is the best yet! Food was amazing – we had calamari, teriyaki wings (absolutely outstanding) and the buffalo shrimp. Service was great and the band was really good. So happy this Belmar institution is thriving again!!

We spent a weekend in the area. I was craving prime rib. I used Google maps to look at all the local bars and restaurants. The Boathouse came up as a place known for their prime rib special on Sat. night. It was a great price and the place looked like a casual atmosphere that appeals to me. We went there, and it had a great relaxed bar environment. Good music. As far as a good experience, that’s where it ended. Bartender was personable once he decided to actually get us a drink and menus. He knew we were there – he said hello, but did not come back to get us drinks for about 10 minutes. Was it packed? No. Was he busy with other patrons? No. When he did give us menus he pointed out that they have a great prime rib special on Sat. nights. I told him that’s why we came there. I was excited to try their prime rib special. So after we finally got our first drink. It was about 20 minutes before he came back (ours drinks werre both long empty) he filled the drinks and took our appetizer order. We tried the chicken tenders and they were very well prepared. Good quality chicken, not greasy, very tender. Our dirty plates stayed on the bar in front of us long after we were done, along with our once again empty drinks. When we saw a bartender again, it was a female that could not have looked more bored. We ordered more food and drinks, still enjoying the atmosphere and the music. We were really trying to have a fun time. I ordered the prime rib. But realized about 5 minutes later that she never asked how I wanted it cooked. I literally had to yell “excuse me” as she walked by to mention this to her. She said that they don’t ask people how they want it done. They just serve it medium. I told her that suited me, that’s how I would want to order it. Well, I really wish that I had thought to photograph this piece of meat. First of all, it was totally brown on the outside with a lot of seasoning and saturated in au jus. It was obviously reheated. I cut into it and it was raw. I tried to enjoy a little off of each end, but still raw – ugh! So I ate my baked potato and when she finally came around again (another 10 minutes and once again our drinks were long empty) I showed her how disgustingly raw it was. She did offer to have them cook it more. OK, it was already ruined. You can not refire prime rib. Believe me they already tried that with this piece of meat. Again, it was dark brown on the outside, but raw inside. Anyway, I told her nah. Just bring some take out containers and I’ll bring it home. No apology, no reaction at all. Just deadpan robot like bartender. We got our check and left. As an aside, I should mention that my husband got the chicken sandwich with roasted red peppers and mozzarella (not sure of the name on the menu) it was pathetic. Such a thin sandwich, we couldn’t even believe that they would serve it, but the fries were good. All in all, I’m sorry to say that this place is not worth a visit. I try not to trash any business, I know that it’s hard to earn a living, but this place truly warrants it, in my humble opinion.

Love this restaurant! $1 wings on Sunday and Wednesday, and the best wings ever. Great deals on Sundays and definitely recommend. Staff is so friendly and helpful! Special shout out to Kevin!

Stopped for a quick lunch after a beach day during off peak hours. We were greeted by the manager who accommodated our seating choice with no problems. The food & drinks were good and the staffs were friendly. Seems like it would be a lively place during busy hours. Would come again in the future when we are in the area .

Food and service were good, well priced specials on drinks and drinks wings, too. Being from Buffalo, we are wing snobs. They were decent but nothing like home! Service was fine, though we did get a bit forgotten at the end and had to ask for one check. It was a very hot day and the lack of AC was tough. We’d try again though.

asked if a vodka redbull was included in the $5 happy hour they said yes it’s happy hour! very excited, come to find out it’s a $3 up charge which is usual for this drink but i would appreciate not being mislead low key still nice abt it tho
