Salto Coffee isn’t just a coffee shop; it’s a vibrant hub of the Nederland community. Nestled amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Colorado mountains, this cafe offers an experience that goes beyond your typical caffeine fix. From the moment you step inside, the inviting aroma of freshly roasted beans envelops you, promising a truly exceptional cup of coffee. The baristas are not just skilled in their craft; they’re passionate about it, eager to share their knowledge and guide you through their diverse selection of single-origin beans and expertly crafted blends. Whether you prefer a perfectly pulled espresso, a smooth cold brew, or a meticulously prepared pour-over, Salto Coffee delivers with precision and artistry.
But Salto Coffee is more than just great coffee. It’s a place where locals and visitors alike gather to connect, share stories, and soak in the laid-back mountain vibe. The cozy interior, with its warm lighting and comfortable seating, invites you to linger and savor the moment. The friendly staff, always ready with a smile and a chat, make you feel like part of the Salto family. And the delicious pastries and light bites, made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, perfectly complement your coffee experience. Whether you’re seeking a quiet corner to work, a place to catch up with friends, or simply a spot to enjoy a moment of solitude, Salto Coffee provides the perfect ambiance. Open from 7 AM to 7 PM Thursday through Sunday, and until 3 PM Monday through Wednesday, it’s a reliable and wonderful place to visit. If you’re anywhere near Nederland, Salto Coffee is an absolute must-visit – a true 5-star gem

My husband and I embarked on a scenic Fall foliage drive during the last weekend of September, with a pit stop in the charming mountain town of Nederland, CO. We decided to grab a quick bite at Salto Cafe. Having already indulged in coffee earlier that morning, we opted for salads and a side of sourdough toast with butter.

I ordered the Greek Salad with grilled chicken, and it met my expectations. The portion size was just right for me. On the other hand, my husband chose the Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. While he liked the flavor, it left him wanting more, and he wasn’t too keen on the texture and consistency of the dressing.

The cafe exudes a welcoming atmosphere, and its outdoor seating is a perfect choice when the weather is pleasant.

Great stop for an espresso based drink and pastry. As a home-roaster, I can be picky, but our cappuccino & lattes were excellent – superior (I think) to the New Moon Cafe in Ned. The pastry choices were limited on a Monday due to a busy peak color weekend crowd cleaning out the supply. We got carrot cake and an apple danish thing – both were delicious. Had a nice chat with the owner who’s a really nice lady. Note – they’re closed on Tuesday.

Great coffee. I had the Peruvian light roast, highly recommend. Really cool store with lots of cool pastries and products.

Be prepared, it’s a bit pricey, $5.70 for a pour over. But if you’re looking for the best coffee in Ned, this is it.

Great little cafe, love the outdoor patio and fireplace. They have beer and wine as well. I didn’t try any bakery items or food this go around but they do have some tasty looking items. Lovely staff, very friendly. Street parking.

What a fantastic place! High ceilings and beautiful art, beautiful coffee, good food (falafel pita, in this case.) I love the additional unique flavors – I got orange cardamom in my latte. I’m staying with friends in town and it’s their favorite of the three coffee shops in town. The power even went off while we were there (on the first trip) and they just kept on going with whatever they could do! (We came back when the power came back on.)

Edit – I’ve been back on a Sunday morning and really enjoyed another orange cardamom latte, a scone, and an egg sandwich, all of which were wonderful. That scone was huge and pretty amazing, in particular. Highly recommended!

My girlfriend and I love trying out as many coffee shops as we can during vacations. This one was definitely one of the best and one we will frequent. The atmosphere is very homely and we felt very at ease here. The baristas were incredibly knowledgeable and able to guide us throughout the ordering process. Syrups are house-made and not to sweet! The Orange Cardamom latte is a must!!!

Portions are small and more on the pricey side. Ordered the biscuit egg sandwich for 6$ and it was very small but good quality. Would rather of paid more for a larger meal. My friends and I all agreed they had good coffee and custom syrups. Atmosphere and building are very atmospheric. Where the building is located though is under construction. Other cafes offer better views.
Also no almond milk alternative offered.

Awesome spot in Nederland!

Got a maple latte, brown sugar/butter latte, and a (huge) slice of cake. Top notch lattes— great syrups that don’t overpower. Delicious, decadent cake too. Cake for breakfast? Sure, why not.

Cute, newer space connected to an outdoors store.

We will be back!
