We were pleasantly surprised to find this place. We were passing through from St. Louis back home and was hungry. Chinese food sounded good so we thought we’d stop in Lincoln. The outside of the building is very deceiving. Inside, it is very well decorated and very inviting. We started with a 6 piece order of Crab Rangoon– they nailed it! It is SO good! Very creamy and the outside of it was just crispy enough to be good, but not too crispy or burnt. Each of our meals were very good, served hot, and we had enough to take some home. In Lincoln???….GO!!

Esthetic of the restaurant is really well put together. Staff is friendly and the food is really good. You get wanton and sweet and sour sauce right when you sit down. Crab rangoons do not skimp on the filling. Portions are small on some dishes but huge on others. No dessert options, limited drink choices, and price is about what you’d expect to pay based on the look of the restaurant.

Ordered carry out 3/5/2026 and I must say that it was the worst Chinese food I had ever had in all my 71 years of life! We ordered the black pepper chicken dinner size and chicken broccoli with garlic sauce and 6 crab Rangoon. To start with there menu is confusing it said that with all meals yellow rice and your choice of an egg roll or 1 crab Rangoon! I ordered 2 large dinners and got 1 white rice! The dinners were bland and not very appealing to the eyes and we had to drench them with soy sauce to make them edible! They put the dinners in a cardboard container like rice and it leaked all over the bag instead of using foil or plastic containers like any other Chinese restaurant would! The crab Rangoon wasn’t that bad but it was dark brown either from old grease or from being over cooked! I would say that the price was about $10 higher than any other Chinese restaurant in the area $38 for garbage terrible food! I can’t understand how people can even think about giving a 5 star rating. They must be the guy that goes to a Chinese restaurant and eats corn on the cob and French fries! It’s like driving down the road and throwing $38 out the window!

Good server, funny and professional.
The General Tsos chicken may have very well been the very best I have had to this day. The waitress unfortunately did not give me free Crab Rangoon upon me telling her that her boss wanted her to do so. That is a good thing because I was lying. Shes on top of things.

My husband and I went there last week. We both got the War Bar hot plate. We have had the worst case of food poisoning! The steak didn’t quite taste normal so pretty sure that was the culprit. The last 48 hours have been very rough!

My husband and I stayed at the hotel near by. This is one of the best Chinese places we’ve been too. Staff was friendly and helpful. The food was awesome! Would definitely make the hour and a half drive just for this place.

Food was bland. Crab Ragoon was only cream cheese deep fried. Fried rice had no vegetables in it. Peppered chicken with onions and green peppers was alright, all I could taste is the black pepper. Husband said the Cashew Chicken was okay.

Stopped here during a road trip. Affordable and delicious! Had the moo shu beef and it was on point. The crab ragoons are good too. They offer fried wontons with sweet and sour Sauce, a sort of chips and salsa twist as well as tea. The place was decorated nicely. It’s located in a strip mall.

The food was good. I think it seemed pretty Americanized, but it still tasted good. The staff was friendly.

Lincoln, IL.

Being picky about where we eat chinese. We decided to try Chi Family Restaurant. I usually only eat chinese food in major cities like Chicago, N.Y., SF, etc…
The place has a wonderful family feel to it. They are very friendly upon entering.

Mongolian Beef
Moo Shu Pork
Egg Rolls

Both dishes were very good and a lot of food. We have decided to eat here more often.

Overall, the food was delicious, service was excellent, and the hostess was so friendly.

Just don’t be the first one to pay with credit card. It the machine likes to sleep in
