OMG INCREDIBLE. Came for NYE date night dinner and the most amazing meal ever. Staff were great, interior and lighting were perfect and food was faultless. Cannot recommend enough and will be a special place and memory forever.

We had a truly wonderful dining experience here. The restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere, with a charming rustic décor and thoughtful little touches that make you feel at home. The seating area is decorated with patterned fabrics, cushions, and soft lighting, which creates a welcoming and intimate setting.

The food was excellent from start to finish. We began with classic French starters – the escargots baked in herb butter were perfectly prepared, and the asparagus with hollandaise was fresh and delicious. For mains, we had a grilled salmon with lemon and sauce on the side, and a rich chicken and mushroom dish in creamy sauce – both full of flavour and cooked with great care. Everything was beautifully presented on traditional plates that added to the authentic feel.

Desserts were a highlight – the crème brûlée was perfectly caramelised, and the vanilla ice cream was smooth and refreshing.

Service was attentive, friendly, and at just the right pace. The wine complemented the dishes beautifully, and the overall experience was one of relaxed enjoyment.

This is a restaurant that combines charm, atmosphere, and excellent food. Highly recommended – we will definitely be returning.

My son and I ate here for the first time today and it was absolutely wonderful. Our waitress, Pauline, was fantastic – perfect mix of professional, efficient, helpful and friendly. We felt welcome and cared about. The food was simply divine! The quality and the taste were fantastic. We went for the 3 course deal – both of us had something different from each other at each course and everything was so delicious. The place itself is very attractive and the atmosphere was great. It was wonderful to hear French being spoken partly as I love the language and partly for the authenticity of the place. We both want to return and would highly recommend it. It’s not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. Merci beaucoup à tous.

What an extraordinary French restaurant!! The seating is intimate with outdoor indoor and downstairs. The decor is quintessential French with flower baskets, candles, mismatched flatware. The food is amazing. The two or three course option is very reasonable for such quality and generous helpings. A great wine list, wonderful service all make an exceptional dinning experience. Truly special.

Come for the atmosphere, not the food. A dark-ish, iconic, quietly bustling restaurant with an old Parisian feel worth the price of my overly salted escargot and glasses of so-so French white. Lovely wait staff but food needs work as tastes from
my table mates proved. Reservations are a must even singly.

We have always had a wonderful dining experience at La Poule Au Pot. Friendly service and fantastic French cuisine. Some dishes we’ve enjoyed include the escargots, pan-fried foie gras and French onion soup. The bread served with the meal is always fresh and warm.

It’s a good many years since we last visited and it did not disappoint – everything was as delicious as we remembered. A great festive occasion with friends. Onion tart was fabulous. Duck confit was faultless. Crème brulee was scrumptious.

Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful.

To start, had one of the best french onion soups ever!! Then the main course: steak and fries which was amazing! I ordered it medium (as you should ;)) and the meat was very tasty and tender

The staff welcomed us and took their time explaining the menu

Superb experience, definitely recommend!

We absolutely adored the atmosphere and soul of this French restaurant.

Firstly, our server brought a lovely basket of fresh bread and butter. For starter, I went for the Ratatouille chaud which was a beautifully flavourful, yet simple dish. I then had the rump of lamb and my friend had the steak, both had a lovely flavour but were a bit chewy unfortunately. Our other friend who had the beef bourguignon, however, and said it was perfection!

A lovely overall experience though, which makes you feel like you’ve taken a little trip to the French countryside!

What an incredible place – we came here for my nephew’s 18th birthday lunch and from start to finish the meal was incredible. The French Onion soup was possibly the best thing I’ve ever tasted and I honestly think I’m going to dream about it for eternity. Delicious salmon – wish I’d had room for pudding! Fabulous wine list too. Great intimate atmosphere and lovely service. Can’t wait to come back!
