This is an adorable little breakfast spot with great portions and reasonable prices. I often judge a breakfast restaurants by how their grits are cooked and this spot did not disappoint. The grits were buttery creamy cheesy and delicious. I had a salmon patty and it was cooked to perfection. It wasn’t fishy and it wasn’t greasy. It was just right. The coffee was great. The staff was welcoming and warm and I enjoyed a quick breakfast at an affordable price. I definitely will be going back.

As a self-proclaimed Gastronomist with an affinity for breakfast eats, I am always on the hunt for a magnificent morning meal that is both reliable, and contains few undercurrents of regret. I have eaten at this humble cafe on 3 separate—but barely spaced apart—visits and each time I go, it only becomes better. If you’re like me, that apparently hyperbolic statement just ignited a full furnace of cynicism within you, and you’ve almost decided I’m not to be trusted. Wait. Just wait. I have no bias beyond my opinion, and I am not speaking hyperbolically. Lemme ask:

Have you ever wanted to pay an amount of money for a plate of food that once eaten, doesn’t send you spiraling in grocery calculus as you consider its creation, or make you obligated to say through a painted-on smile, “Well it beats cleaning up, so it’s worth it, bahaha…”

Have you ever wanted to feel waited upon rather than treated as an inconvenience? Do you have a slightly paranoid, but mostly curious desire to watch not only your food, but the food of other patrons, being prepared by a friendly, deft chef with more than a passing resemblance to Norman Reedus?

Have you ever been close to tears after a meal from a restaurant that had more to do with satisfaction than regret?

I have. But even in my fervent—and often far-reaching—pursuit of quality breakfast experiences, finding spots that excel, and do so consistently is rare. Too often “the best breakfasts” are nothing more than trite, lifeless assemblies of bland pancakes, greasy questionable meats and soggy spuds, thrust onto a pedestal by community support rather than actual merit. This is most certainly not one of those places—all their merit is 100% organic, and their food, delicious.

Kevin’s Cafe is priceless. It is, however, cash only.

Great service with classic diner/cafe atmosphere. Recommended for working class people. The food was delicious and better than it should have been to be for a standard breakfast.

Our family tried Kevin’s for the 1st time ,pleasantly surprised. Food was cooked to perfection. All staff was welcoming. Waitress was on point! Glasses never emptied. She even brewed a fresh pot of coffee for us! Our little guy loved his strawberry waffle. Kids were happy and that’s a huge for our family. We will make to trek back over again.

I got the fisherman’s breakfast with gravy on the hash browns and a couple pancakes. I would definitely recommend the gravy on the hash browns or biscuits and gravy. Both of those were really good

This is one of those hole in the wall places that is worth the visit. It is very rustic inside and as soon as you sit down you know the food is going to be amazing. You watch the cook and the dishwasher right in front of you. Nothing is hidden. What got me excited was when my server asked, would you like onions and gravy in your potatoes? My smile got so big and I got both lol. The chicken fried steak was amazing. He did say it was not made fresh to order but wherever he gets them, they make perfect!! The price was great as well. The only side note is they only take cash!! So don’t forget. Otherwise they do have an ATM right inside.

Wish I could give a higher review. Could be 10/10 if it was possible. Reasonable prices for good old comfort breakfast. They were absolutely packed and busy running around on Saturday when the Harry Potter festival started. Our server was very nice and polite, she felt really bad just for forgetting my toast with my amazing sausage patty and eggs but was kind enough to comp our coffee which was not necessary. I could tell that she was busting her butt as best as she could. Left her a nice tip, absolutely recommended for breakfast and would love to come back again and try lunch.

Sincerely, guy in an LA Dodgers hat and Seattle Mariners shirt with 2 ladies seated in the back left when you come in through the front door

What a delight it was to eat at this Cafe! It was like when I was a kid, and you got to sit at the bar of the cafe and watch the cook make your meal. Such a cool experience. Went there with my family of 4, the kids ordered mickey pancakes, my husband and I ordered the burger. They were happy to accommodate my special request of no bun and sub the fries for a side salad. When we got our food, it was cooked perfectly. The salad didn’t appear like lettuce from a bag, it was fresh, hand chopped. So good to have real food that was great tasting. The cook, he is Kevin, been there for 15 years. Really nice staff. We will definitely be back!
