I had the grouper basket and the first piece tasted bad, other two pieces were ok but no way to tell it was grouper. Hubby had a burger and it looked and tasted homemade, quite good. But the place is an absolute dive. Avoid the bathrooms. Cash only. Overpriced. $37 and no alcohol.

Filthy restaurant, the restrooms are disgusting, even the ceilings need to be vacuumed for huge dust bunnies that could drop down into your food at any time. However, it’s great fun on Monday bingo night, every seat will be taken. The food was decent but you can smell the old fryer oil from the kitchen. Owner might want to take some pride and just CLEAN the place.
I’d go back, just know this is one of the DIVE-iest dive bars ever. I’d hate to see the owner’s home.

This is one of a few restaurants located on this road. The staff is friendly, the food is good and the service is good too.
The restaurants appearance inside is a little neglected. Smoking is permitted inside the restaurant and yes the cigarette smell is strong. This is the reason for my low score not the food.
I ordered the clam chowder. The menu said homemade and so I had to try it. It was delicious. I liked very much. I highly recommend it. It was nice and chunky.
We ordered fried mushrooms, Cauliflower and the fried cheese curds. All great. I specially like the curds.
I ordered the Fried Grouper Sandwich. It was a nice portion. It had great flavor. I enjoyed the crispy and flavor that fish batter had. The fish was cooked perfectly. It came with fries.
This place looks like one fun place to hang out during the night. There is plenty of parking located in the back.

Dirty place…drive into parking lot..trash & cigarettes butts everywhere..that should have been a sign for us. Bartender was so nice, beer nice & cold..couldn’t really see out the windows cuz they were filthy..we tried a couple appetizers fried pickles & bacon jalapeño poppers..first off wicked greasy..they were supposed be bacon WRAPPED poppers. Ummm..what it was ..bacon postage stamp..not good..fried pickles were spears..supposed to be pickle chips for a better crunch..but the bartender was super nice & beer was cold..so I needed to go to bathroom..OMG USE SOME FRIGGING BLEACH AND CLEAN IT..I would rather go in the bushes..this is right next to a campground so it could make good $$$$$..CLEAN THE PLACE

We were coming from Miami back home to fort Myers and stopped for a drink and something to eat. I am very picky about gator bites but let me tell you theirs are the most tender gator bites I’ve ever had. Very impressed. Everyone is so nice from the patrons to our bartender Nikki. This will be on our stop list every trip to and from Miami.

Stopped in for lunch while staying at state campground, glad we did! Grouper was great, perfectly cooked and so were Mushrooms. Staff friendly and attentive…wheelchair accessible but only backroom seating for me. All others were Hightower unless outside. Would go again for sure

My roommate and i actually had to debate how to rate this place. His point – if you rate a dive bar based on a very strong pour… it’s 5 stars for sure.
He had me watch the bartender make his rum and coke… and yep – huge pour with just a splash of coke to change the color lol.
If you base the rating on the food, i gave it 3 stars. The patty melt was standard fair but the jalapeño poppers were hand made and quite good except the peppers themselves were mild at best – which was disappointing.
The gator bites were tender and soft – many times they are chewy… and the peel and eat shrimp were quite nice.
So we compromised and gave it 4 stars LOL.

Entire experience. Everyone there was having a great time. Live gators. On location wood carving. Petting zoo for young and old. Live band played lots of our favorites. Dancing and much more… definitely stop by on your travels. Hamburgers fries and soft drink, reasonably priced and delicious
