New American cuisine comes to life in this custom-designed location overlooking the harbor in Newport Beach, California. Our chef brings culinary drama to his inventive dishes for lunch, dinner and the enormously popular Champagne Sunday Brunch. Lunch, dinner or brunch dining may all be enjoyed al fresco on our wrap-around patio, made comfortable with built-in heaters and sun drapes. Very poor New Year‘s Eve experience! From the minute we sat down we were rushed through the evening. We ended up with both appetizers and entrees on the table at the same time. Filet was not cooked to order either. Not recommended if you’re looking for a restaurant to enjoy a special meal.

I visited Bayside for Mother’s Day dinner with my dad and step mom and was completely impressed! The food was exceptional – every dish we ordered was perfectly prepared and delicious.

Service was outstanding, especially our waitress Nayla who was attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations.

Loved the atmosphere with the perfect music setting the mood. Even the valet service was quick and hassle-free.

Definitely recommend this place for a special occasion like Mother’s Day or any time you want a great dining experience!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

We made a reservation two weeks in advance for Valentine’s Day and even received a same-day confirmation. We drove 45 minutes to celebrate what was supposed to be a special night, excited for our 8:30 pm reservation.

When we arrived, there was a large crowd of people waiting outside and we were told the restaurant had overbooked. Despite having a confirmed reservation and providing our phone number for updates, we were asked to wait another 45 minutes — with no clear timeline or guarantee.

If you cannot properly manage reservations on one of the busiest nights of the year, you should not be accepting more bookings than you can handle. Overbooking confirmed reservations is unprofessional and extremely inconsiderate of your customers’ time — especially on Valentine’s Day.

We decided to leave and went to a nearby restaurant instead. The difference was night and day: warm welcome, organized seating, better service, and more reasonable prices. By 10:00 pm, we still had not received a single message or update about our table from the original restaurant.

This experience showed a complete lack of respect for customers and their time. We will not be returning.

If zero stars were an option, that’s exactly what this place deserves.

The food was phenomenal! The live music was nice and good selection of wine!
The steak was very good and the mushrooms were amazing the diced scallops were very flavorful as well! The dessert was AMAZING the souflee was out of this world.

One of our favorite spots. We love the jazz and all the servers are great. The friday night jazz with Ron (?) is exactly what you’d hope for. The music is easily (perfectly) heard but never too loud. We were trying to figure out how every table seems to have the perfect volume. Food was great and really loved how attentive the staff was!

Bayside Restaurant in Newport Beach is a gem, especially for its live music every night. The atmosphere is so captivating that I often find myself singing along or even getting up to dance. The food and service are just as exceptional: my go-to dishes are the scallops, the lamb, and all the steaks. The seafood is so fresh and the steaks are far superior in flavor to any high-end restaurant. For appetizers, the ahi tuna tartare is a must-try (THE BEST I’ve had anywhere), and the calamari with its Thai-style twist of chilies, green onion, and cilantro over an amazing salad is a standout. Desserts? Absolutely heavenly. The cheesecake and panna cotta are favorites, but the Grand Marnier souffle is simply to die for.
The service is also impeccable…from the moment you arrive with the complimentary valet service, to the hostesses, the bartenders, servers, and bussers. Everyone is so friendly and attentive! Bayside is an experience I cherish every time. Can’t wait for my next visit!

If you’re interested in a good restaurant with live music, delicious food and good service, you’ve found it at Bayside. Surprisingly despite the music and how busy they were, the noise level was good. Perfect lighting, very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our waiter Larry was knowledgeable and attentive. Loved the menu, the ingredients in every dish were perfectly designed and seasoned. Nice presentation and a delightful evening overall.

Had a nice Valentine’s Day Dinner at Bayside on the 14th. Gwendolyn was our server and very nice and professional. We had the prefix menu at $135 a person. My wife started with the Cesar salad and I had the crab cake. We both had tequilla drinks. For our main entree my wife had the Sea Bass and I had the Salmon. Both dishes were very good. The music was amazing with the trio playing some awesome tunes. For desert we had a coffee and both the flour less chocolate cake and the strawberry shortcake.
A nice meal, Valet parking and we felt the love in the air.

What an amazingly good dining experience this evening at Bayside in Newport Beach. The Valet attendant, Hector was welcoming and professional. Upon entering the restaurant, which by the way is nicely appointed and quite elegant, we checked in with the lovely hostess a bit early for our 5:30 reservation. We were seated at a lovely table in the outdoor patio area with a terrific view of the bay. Or server extraordinare, Mavi, who has been with Bayside for 22 years, introduced himself and took our drink order as we chatted a bit. Upon returning with a wonderful Jalepeno Margarita and my wife’s frozen margarita, Mavi suggested the array of soups, which we both selected the eggplant puree soup. The soup was delicious and paired with some tasty hot rolls delivered to the table by Felix for round one and then Ruben for round two. The staff are all professional , very pleasant and friendly. Juan, Arnold and Pollo were all fantastic as well. My wife also had a nice Cesar salad and I had another Jalepeno margarita. We then ordered our main entree and visited with each other and staff during our dining experience. It was so nice. We both selected the mushroom crusted halibut and substituted the asparagus for sautéed spinach over a beautifully prepared pureed potato. The meals were well prepared, presented and very tasty. We finished our evening with the chocolate cake with salted Carmel ice cream and an Americano coffee. We took a slice of New York cheesecake home. The service Mavi and his team of amazing staff did a fantastic job making our evening special and our compliments to the chefs as well.
A terrific evening out and the live music indoors with the piano, saxophone and drums was a nice addition to our experience.

Valentine’s Day. Staff stood by as young couple was harassed by a horrible man (I use that term lightly). He was clearly bothered by the fact that the couple was two females. He made the entire restaurant uncomfortable with his comments and staff did nothing. Another patron got up and apologized to them. I could only hope that their meal was comped at the very least. This was an embarrassing and horrible incident.

Best Easter dinner experience ever! The manager Bill is an absolute sweetheart; him and Corey took great care of us the whole night and made us feel like family. On top of that, the food was amazing!! You could cut the prime rib with a butter knife and the beet salad is so refreshing. The live music was the perfect addition to the night! I highly recommend eating here for the amazing service and the delicious food!
