The Pink Pig was originally built around 1950 as a country store and grist mill. It was later purchased by the Holloway family in 1967. Pit-cooked BBQ, Bud’s Original sauce, and homemade Brunswick Stew, slow-cooked in a cast iron pot, makes this restaurant a local icon and tourist treasure. Founded by Bud Holloway, the tradition has been passed to his granddaughter, Samantha and her husband Jacob.

The Pink Pig is a must-visit for any BBQ lover! The brisket, pulled pork, and ribs were absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
The sides were just as impressive! The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, the fried okra was crispy and flavorful, and the green beans had that perfect homestyle touch.
The staff was so friendly and welcoming, adding to the charm of this cute little spot. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this place is a real treat.
I ordered the combo plate with brisket, pork, and two ribs. I was a bit surprised to find that the brisket was served shredded, as this wasn’t mentioned on the menu. Additionally, the meat arrived quite cold and lacked flavor, which was disappointing.
For my sides, I chose mac and cheese and Brunswick stew. Unfortunately, both fell short of expectations. The mac and cheese was cold and didn’t have much cheesy flavor or seasoning, while the stew was too hot to enjoy comfortably, and the taste was somewhat bland. The bread also seemed stale.
Another member of our group ordered fried chicken with fries, but they found the chicken to be rubbery and the fries unpalatable.
On a positive note, the water was good, but considering there was a charge for it, we expected it to be. Overall, it seems there are areas that could be improved to enhance the dining experience for future customers.
