2 visits in 2 days! Yes we liked this place that much !
This time we had their bowls – I stuck with my Seasonal Veggie bowl with cabbage slaw , while the better half got the Mexi-Cali Shrimp bowl .
Both were prepared fresh with greatest of ingredients and we savored each forkful!
This is what a lunch should be!

We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful times we had wearing at the Velvet Taco!
On entering we joined the short line for ordering our lunch. Service was smooth and efficient.. All tables were clean and dining area was spic and span!
We ordered the Quesa Birria Duo + Mexi-Cali Shrimp taco and the Seasonal Veggie Bowl in which the Basmati Rice was replaced by Cabbage Slaw to make it lighter.
All ingredients in the Tacos and Bowl were super fresh and sauces very tasty. Evidently they were made with a lot of care and attention and to a well tried recipe.
The only minus point that we felt was the lack of utensils like forks with in easy reach should we needed them.. But if you ask for the staff gladly helps you out.
We will be back very soon to try their other offerings!

Velvet Taco in McKinney, TX is such a cool little spot for anyone craving creative Mexican-inspired food with a modern twist. I went with my wife, and we both really enjoyed the atmosphere — casual, fun, and full of great energy.
I ordered the Chicken Tikka Bowl, and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were bold and perfectly balanced — that mix of Mexican and Indian influence really worked. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, and everything was cooked with attention to detail.
It’s a great place to grab a bite, hang out, and try something different from your usual taco spot. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Frisco and want great food with a twist.

I’ve been eating Velvet Taco since the only one in Dallas was off of Knox/Henderson and 75. Their food never disappoints. It’s got a little something for everyone. I wanted to write this review though bc one of their employees impressed me today. A young man named Amir. I was running behind. My order was ready. He looked to speed it up. Handed it to me as quickly as possible and I was very appreciative. Service matters and velvet taco doesn’t disappoint. Some family favs are the burger taco, tikka, Cuban, kids steak quesadilla, elote, elote guac. All delicious.

I stopped by Velvet Taco for Taco Tuesday for the first time and was honestly impressed. The food was amazing, everything tasted fresh, and the place itself was spotless. Mario rang us up and helped us out and he was fantastic, friendly, patient, and made the whole experience even better. Between the food, the service, and the atmosphere, this is definitely a spot I will be coming back to.

Velvet Taco never disappoints! The food is absolutely amazing — the elote is hands down the best I’ve ever had, so flavorful and creamy. The chicken and waffles taco is to die for, perfectly crispy and sweet with just the right balance of flavors.
I also love that they always have a weekly rotation taco — it’s such a fun way to try something new every time you visit. The staff is friendly, the vibe is great, and the food always comes out fresh and hot.

New favorite place with unique flavors for tacos, bowls and flavor of the week tacos. I had the La La Land Taco, loved it!!! Great fun with unique combo of ingredients as photo shows.
Also had the chicken bowl just as good with rotisserie chicken, queso blanco, roasted corn pico, black beans, guacamole, avocado crema , charred tomato poblano salsa, cilantro, and buttered cilantro basmati rice.

Great family friendly spot. Service is pickup at the counter. Brisket nachos are a great appetizer. The bowls are a good options as well and can be opted low carb. My favorite taco is the buffalo chicken taco.
