You need to go to Salts for the Chicken Rice Soup! It was amazing – it was fresh and tasted homemade. The sandwiches and fries were also really yummy. Then there’s the Carrot Cake! OMG! So much great food!

This restaurant is unusually soulful. The service is unusually authentic. And the food is unusually delicious. I’ve had many American breakfasts in my life, but the chili cheese omelet beats them all. But the real strength of this little gem in Overton lies in the building itself. A bit industrial, leather chairs, dark curtains.country music. It used to be a church. You can feel the history. The owner is a sensitive and authentic woman. This place is cherished..You see it, you taste it, and it makes me want to come back soon.

Lovely place with an interesting, fresh menu (yay for gluten-free options!) ambience and excellent food. Service is efficient and focused, yet warm and inviting. A sure oasis and easy drive coming in hungry from Valley of Fire State Park!

There aren’t any good restaraunts in Overton, but this new one is pretty good. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. I enjoyed my chilaquiles for breakfast. Interesting modern Western decor.
If you are nearby or coming from Valley of Fire, give this spot a try.

We visited here after a long day of hiking and it was great! They only had 1 person at the front of the house and he was responsible for seating people and serving too. He was nice, quick, and got our orders correct. The fries were good but a little bit too greasy. The restaurant inside was nice, but the curtains covered the entire windows and I thought that that was a bit odd. It felt sort of like a cave. The place was good overall though!

I had a club sandwich with garlic green beans, and also had onion rings. I was wary about the food quality but everything was very good. The service was a little slow though.

Great local spot in a very cool historic building. The service and the food are wonderful. It’s a newer restaurant in town and they have definitely evolved along the way. We used to visit maybe once every couple weeks. But have just started coming more frequently. We’ve noticed during recent visits they’ve really found their groove. The overall feel of the place has changed in a very positive way. We really enjoyed today’s breakfast. The food was excellent and we were served by the owner, and she was amazing. I think this restaurant is just what Overton needs, and just in time for the snowbirds and all the great Fall and Spring events that bring people into our town!
Since Sugars Home Plate sold, there was no place for locals, snowbirds or visitors to eat breakfast in Overton. Car and motorcycle clubs and those OHV visitors too needed a new place to go. We have great places to eat in town, but in Overton, there weren’t any serving breakfast. Salts is a great place, and they pay homage to Sugars by adding some items to their menu that were local favorites, like Judy’s Hash and the Twister wrap! So, support a great small town local business. If you haven’t tried them yet, please do! If you haven’t been in in awhile, you owe it to yourself to give them a try again. You won’t be disappointed!
