Basegrill Athens is a sanctuary for meat enthusiasts, offering an experience that transcends a standard steakhouse visit through its dedication to Greek meat heritage and meticulous craftsmanship.
Unrivaled Culinary Excellence
The menu is a masterclass in meat preparation, with every cut treated with “total respect”.
Signature Potatoes with Eggs: A legendary dish featuring paper-thin, crispy fried potatoes in a “nest” format, topped with fresh eggs mixed at your table.
Elite Meat Selection: From 90-day dry-aged ribeye to perfectly marbled Picanha and tender T-Bone steaks, the quality of locally sourced Greek beef is consistently outstanding.
Exceptional Appetizers: Highlights include the veal tartare, beef carpaccio, and a unique grilled liver that even skeptics find “divine”.
In-House Delicacies: Their artisanal charcuterie and sausages, particularly the sheep prosciutto and black pork sausage, are crafted from heritage breeds

We came here after a recommendation from my brother in law. My wife and I went for our anniversary here for dinner. She made a reservation and we got only a table for two at 22:15 on a Sunday evening, that shows how busy this restaurant is. By the entrance we were welcomed by a friendly staff member who brought us to our table. We had some appetizers and both a lovely meat disch. My wife had her liver what she loves and was crazy about the quality and taste of it. I had some nice tenderloin mignon on pita what was delicious as well. The portion from my wife was so big that she couldn’t finish it. They packed it nicely so we could take it home. Tbh we saw more people leaving with a doggybag, so it means that the portions are big. We had a great evening and meal and we recommend this restaurant for sure!

Basegrill is for meat lovers. The restaurant specialises on dry aged meat 70-90 days and they are super special. Although I am not a meat eater to see the way they serve and the people relish was great to watch. Having said I don’t eat meat they have a very good choice of starters and also main course not red meat but chicken or vegetarian options. My friends who love to eat beef enjoyed a lot but also me liked the vibe of the place and the choices I could manage not having meat.

What a fantastic experience. My wife and I had dinner here at the end of a three-week Greek trip, and this is by far one of the best meals of our trip, which included a fancier Michelin-starred place the last night. The food was delicious: we did not order steak but instead opted for their in-house charcuterie and sausage, which are all made with heritage breed meat. The sheep prosciutto was particularly memorable. The wine service was very good, and our somm was both knowledgeable and very warm. He gifted us a couple glasses–one of which I had been wanting to try–and the dessert was on the house. We do not speak Greek, and the restaurant is not for tourists, but they accommodated us very well. The price is VERY reasonable for the quantity of food and the experience. Highly recommend.

This steak house is the best we tried in Athens yet. Proper, complete, without the usual pretence of steak houses. It has a menu that is fully complete with all those of cuts from Greece, US, Argentina and other. The staff is knowledgeable and can assist you in making the right options. We even tried a bone marrow option, something you won’t find in many restaurants these days. The ingredients are top shelf and fresh. The cook is good, even though 10-15% overly cooked based on what we required (by french standards). From all meats we triedx rib-eye, fillet and picanha the last was the best. Even though well done on order (kids’ option) we were impressed.
The sides are delicious and with a Greek twist such as the fried potato and eggs ‘nest’. The wine list is very complete and offers options for all palates. Strongly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The meat was incredibly delicious, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Our server was not only attentive and friendly but also performed some incredible magic tricks that left us amazed. The tricks were so good, they felt real! It truly added a special touch to the meal. I can’t wait to come back again!”

Great food and service. We loved the salad, meet, chips with eggs and profiterole with ice cream for the finishing. Just be aware that the prices are rather on the high end for Athens, but the food quality rewards you.
